Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS, ABC Dethrone NBC in Demos

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/16/19):

CBS (9.014 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1) pulled into the top spot on Tuesday thanks to new episodes of "NCIS" (11.683 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1), "FBI" (8.733 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (6.626 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7).

ABC (3.860 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #2) then snagged the silver with originals from "American Housewife" (3.898 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5), "The Kids Are Alright" (3.123 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7) and "Black-ish" (3.516 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T5) plus the premiere of "Bless This Mess" (4.638 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) and the season finale of "The Rookie" (3.993 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7).

Next up was NBC (5.141 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) and its mix of "The Voice" (7.094 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2), "The Village" (3.877 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11) and "New Amsterdam" (4.450 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.107 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up fresh installments of "MasterChef Junior" (2.506 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7) and "Mental Samurai" (1.708 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #14).

And finally, new episodes of "The Flash" (1.830 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11) and "Roswell, New Mexico" (1.074 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) on The CW (1.452 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) rounded out the evening.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.4/3; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 0.9/3 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/5. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.2/2 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.5/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.1/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/17/18):

ABC (4.969 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) held onto the demo crown on Tuesday with its mix of "Roseanne" (13.013 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.4, #1), a special "Alex, Inc." (4.845 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3), "Black-ish" (4.141 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), "Splitting Up Together" (3.616 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #8) and "For the People" (2.098 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12).

CBS (10.116 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) likewise was still the most-watched broadcaster with originals from "NCIS" (11.271 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), "Bull" (10.689 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (8.388 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9).

Next up was NBC (6.243 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) and its lineup of "The Voice" (8.211 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2), "Rise" (4.310 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9) and "Chicago Med" (6.210 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.694 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up fresh installments of "Lethal Weapon" (3.509 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11), "LA to Vegas" (2.036 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12) and "New Girl" (1.724 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T12).
