ABC Wins Monday with The Bachelorette Hitting Best-Since-Premiere Results
ABC Monday Prime (8-11pm - 5.8 million and 1.6/5 in AD18-49): For the 2nd time in 3 weeks, ABC won Monday in Total Viewers (5.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.6/5). ABC's The Bachelorette was Monday's #1 TV show in Total Viewers (6.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (3rd week running - 2.0/7).
The Bachelorette (8-10pm - 6.9 million and 2.0/7 in AD18-49): From 8-10pm, ABC's The Bachelorette beat NBC's American Ninja Warrior to win its 2-hour slot by 11% in Adults 18-49 (2.0/7 vs. 1.8/6) and beat Fox's So You Think You Can Dance by triple digits for the 3rd week in a row (+100% - 1.0/4). The ABC unscripted series continued to dominate its 2-hour slot with Adults 18-34 and across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54)
· The Bachelorette was up week to week in Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 18-49 (+5%), drawing it biggest audience on the night since its mid-May premiere and tying a best-since-premiere number in young adults - since 5/18/15. The Bachelorette grew from its year-ago telecast for the 6th week in a row in Adults 18-49 (+11% - 2.0/7vs. 1.8/6 on 7/7/14).
The Whispers (10-11pm - 3.5 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49): During the 10pm hour, ABC's The Whispers held steady week to week with Live + Same Day Adults 18-49 (0.8/3) and the big gainer in TV playback is projected to once again win the hour in the L3 and L7 ratings. In addition, the show was up week to week in Total Viewers and topped NBC's finale of The Island (3.5 million vs. 3.4 million).
· On average this summer in the Live + 7 Day data, The Whispers spikes 83% over its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating (gaining +0.9 rating point). The new ABC drama also adds another 2.6 million Total Viewers (+56%) after 7 days of TV playback, drawing an average audience of 7.2 million viewers in L7.

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
