Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: "Survivor" Helps CBS Hold Onto the Top Spot

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/9/14):

CBS (9.483 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) held onto the top spot on Wednesday with new episodes of "Survivor: Cagayan" (9.556 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1), "Criminal Minds" (9.810 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #2) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (9.084 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #5).

FOX (8.788 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2) then had to settle for second place despite a new two-hour "American Idol" (8.788 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T3).

Next up was NBC (6.036 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) with a repeat of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (4.312 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #11) followed by originals from "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (7.277 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T3) and "Chicago PD" (6.520 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #6).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.508 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up repeats of "The Middle" (4.634 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #8), "Suburgatory" (3.585 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T9) and "Modern Family" (4.795 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.5, #7) plus a new "Mixology" (3.340 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T9) and a repeat "Nashville" (2.348 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #12).

And finally, a repeat "Arrow" (1.287 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #14) and a new "The 100" (1.749 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #13) closed out the night. The CW (1.518 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.2 rating while "100" posted a 0.4 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "Tonight," 1.2/6; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.7/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (10.455 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.6, #2) then claimed the silver with its mix of "Survivor: Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites" (9.145 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T5), "Criminal Minds" (11.288 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.0, #3) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (10.933 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T5).
