Live + 7 Day Ratings: ABC's "S.H.I.E.L.D." Soars 73% in L7, Hitting a New High in TV Playback for the 2nd Straight Week

Live + 7 Day Ratings for the week of 11/11/13 (Week #8):

Based on Nielsen's TV playback data, ABC stood as the week's biggest percentage gainer with Adults 18-49 among the major networks, shooting up 44% over its Live + Same Day rating to deliver a 2.3 in the final Live + 7 Day ratings. Based on non-sports programming, ABC is the #1 network this season among Adults 18-49 (2.76 rating - tied with CBS), beating NBC (2.73) and Fox (2.38).

With 5 of the week's Top 10 biggest broadcast gainers in Adults 18-49, ABC claimed the most for any network: Grey's Anatomy (+2.0 rating points), Modern Family (+2.0 rating points), Scandal (+1.7 rating points), Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.6 rating points) and Nashville (+1.3 rating points). Scandal was once again the week's 2nd-biggest gainer for any 10pm series among Adults 18-49, behind only NBC's The Blacklist. ABC also had 4 of the 10 biggest overall gainers on the broadcast networks (tied with CBS for the most): Castle (+4.6 million), Modern Family (+4.3 million), Grey's Anatomy (+4.2 million) and Scandal (+4.1 million).

ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. grew to a 3.8 rating among Adults 18-49 in the L+7 numbers, jumping 73% over its L+SD rating and scoring a new high in TV playback for the 2nd week in a row. The Neighbors (+50%), Once Upon a Time (+63%) and Scandal (+59%) also all delivered their biggest-ever TV playback gains this week among young adults, while Modern Family (+53%) scored its largest gain for the season. In Total Viewers, The Goldbergs (+53%), Trophy Wife (+35%), Grey's Anatomy (+49%) and Shark Tank (+22%) posted their largest-ever increases this week, while Castle (+46%) and Modern Family (+40%) saw their biggest increases of the season.

In the final Live + 7 Day ratings, ABC delivered 3 of the week's Top 10 highest-rated broadcast shows in Adults 18-49 (versus 1 in the initial Live+SD ratings): Modern Family (5.8 rating) moved up to #3 (from #5) and Grey's Anatomy and Scandal (4.6) jumped up to tie for #8 (from #15 and #12, respectively). In fact, Grey's and Scandal placed among the week's Top 3 broadcast dramas among Adults 18-49, leapfrogging over Fox's debut of Almost Human (4.5) and CBS' NCIS (4.0) and Criminal Minds (3.9).

Based on TV playback data for the 2013-14 season, ABC claims the most Top 10 playback gainers of any broadcast network in Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers. With each show adding on at least +1.5 rating points in Adults 18-49 over their L+SD numbers, ABC has 4 of the season's 10 biggest TV playback gainers on the broadcast networks: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+1.9 rating points), Modern Family (+1.9 rating points), Grey's Anatomy (+1.9 rating points) and Scandal (+1.5 rating points). ABC claims 5 of the 10 biggest overall gainers on the broadcast networks: Castle (+4.3 million), Modern Family (+4.1 million), S.H.I.E.L.D. (+4.0 million), Grey's (+4.0 million) and Scandal (+3.9 million).

Nearly all of ABC's key returning series are seeing bigger percentage gains among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 this year than last: Castle (+57% vs. +50%), Dancing with the Stars (+20% vs. +14%), Grey's Anatomy (+66% vs. +51%), Modern Family (+48% vs. +45%), Nashville (+71% vs. +62%), The Neighbors (+30% vs. +15%), Once Upon a Time (+52% vs. +42%), Revenge (+59% vs. +48%), Scandal (+48% vs. +45%) and Shark Tank (+37% vs. +21%).

· Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is Tuesday's #1 TV show this season with Adults 18-49 based on original telecasts, beating NBC's The Voice by 4% (4.9 rating vs. 4.7 rating).

· Modern Family is the season's #2 scripted series among Adults 18-49 on the broadcast networks (5.9).

· S.H.I.E.L.D (4.9) and Grey's Anatomy (4.8) are the season's #2 and #3 broadcast dramas, respectively, among Adults 18-49.
