Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: Red Sox, World Series Go Out on Top for FOX

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/30/13):

FOX (17.996 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.4, #1) overshadowed the competition on Wednesday with its coverage of the "World Series, Game 6" (17.996 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.4, #1).

CBS (9.746 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) then took home a distant silver with its mix of "Survivor: Blood vs. Water" (9.024 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.3, #3), "Criminal Minds" (10.620 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (9.593 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T6).

Next up was ABC (6.261 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #3) and its combination of "The Middle" (8.033 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.1, #5), "Back in the Game" (6.236 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.7, #8), a repeat "Modern Family" (7.420 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.2, #4), "Super Fun Night" (5.421 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T6) and "Nashville" (5.228 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T9).

Meanwhile, NBC (4.440 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) served up a new "Revolution" (4.914 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T9) alongside repeats of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (3.857 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #12) and a second "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (4.550 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.2, #11).

And finally, new episodes of "Arrow" (2.336 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #13) and "The Tomorrow People" (1.732 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #14) closed out the night over on The CW (2.034 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.6 rating while "Tomorrow" posted a 0.4 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (10/31/12):

FOX (7.37 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1) topped a tight race on Wednesday with new episodes of "The X Factor" (6.92 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T5) and a second "The X Factor" (7.83 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.8, #3).

CBS (10.88 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.5, #2) then was a close second place with originals from "Survivor: Philippines" (9.80 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T5), "Criminal Minds" (11.99 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.9, #2) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (10.84 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.3, #7).

Next up was ABC (7.02 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3) with its annual rebroadcast of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (7.94 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.7, #4) followed by new episodes of "The Neighbors" (5.75 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T8), "Modern Family" (10.41 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 4.1, #1), "Suburgatory" (6.38 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.4, #T5) and "Nashville" (5.79 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T8).
