"48 Hours: Secrets of the River" Was Saturday's #1 Program in Both Households and Viewers

"48 HOURS: SECRETS OF THE RIVER" WAS SATURDAY'S #1 PROGRAM IN BOTH HOUSEHOLDS AND VIEWERS

CBS News' 48 HOURS: "Secrets of the River" was Saturday's #1 program in households and viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Nov. 10, 2012.

48 HOURS delivered 4.3/08 in households, 6.03m viewers, 1.7/05 in adults 25-54 and 1.2/04 in adults 18-49. 48 HOURS posted its best deliveries in these measures since May 12, 2012.

Saturday's broadcast featured Peter Van Sant's report on the murder of Mackenzie Cowell, a beautiful high school senior and aspiring model who was brutally killed and left on the side of the Columbia River in Washington. An unprecedented team of investigators from multiple agencies spent eight months working on the case before getting a tip that led them to a beauty school classmate, Chris Wilson. Attention to the case heightened when Wilson's mother hired famed defense attorney John Henry Browne. Browne has represented serial killer Ted Bundy and is now defending the high-profile case of Sgt. Robert Bales, who faces 17 charges of murder relating to a civilian massacre in Afghanistan.

48 HOURS: "Secrets of the River" is produced by James Stoltz. Stephen McCain and Deanna DiMuro are the field producers. Gregory McLaughlin is the producer/editor. Michael Vele and Maria Barrow are the editors. Anthony Batson is the senior producer. Al Briganti is the executive editor. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.

"Secrets of the River" is part of 48 HOURS' 25th full season. It is the third-longest-running primetime series and has been the #1 non-sports program on Saturday nights for six consecutive seasons.
