UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - August 23, 2011 - Led by the "NBC Sunday Night Football" preseason Chargers-Cowboys game, which was the #1 telecast of the week on the broadcast networks in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, and the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of "America's Got Talent," which ranked #2 and #3 this week in total viewers, NBC averaged a 1.6 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.5 million viewers overall for the week of August 15-21, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

For the week, NBC ranked #2 among the broadcast networks in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and total viewers.

The "NBC Sunday Night Football" preseason game, in which the San Diego Chargers defeated the Dallas Cowboys 20-7, was the #1 telecast of the week on the broadcast networks in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 total viewers and other key measures. Also ranking among the top programs of the week in adults 18-49 were the Tuesday and Wednesday editions of "America's Got Talent (#8 and #9 respectively).

In total viewers, "NBC Sunday Night Football, " Tuesday's "America's Got Talent" and Wednesday's "America's Got Talent" results show ranked #1, #2 and #3 respectively among all primetime telecasts on the broadcast networks.

This marks the 10th consecutive week (since the week of June 13-19) that NBC has programmed the #1 telecast of the week on the broadcast networks in both adults 18-49 and total viewers.

Primetime averages for the week of August 15-21 in adults 18-49 were Fox (1.8/6), NBC (1.6/5), CBS (1.4/4), ABC (1.2/4) and CW (0.3/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (6.0 million), NBC (5.5 million), Fox (4.7 million), ABC (4.4 million) and CW (0.8 million).

NBC highlights for the week of August 15-21:

* "America's Got Talent" was the #1 telecast on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW Tuesday night in total viewers.

* In it second hour from 10-11 p.m. hour Tuesday night, "America's Got Talent" beat the ABC-CBS competition combined in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key categories.

* NBC finished #1 Tuesday night in total viewers, marking the network's 12th consecutive Tuesdays win in that category.

* On Wednesday, a Results Show edition of "America's Got Talent" ranked #1 in its time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures

* "America's Got Talent" delivered the top results on television Wednesday night in total viewers.

* From its first half-hour to its second, Wednesday's "America's Got Talent" grew in every key ratings category, including gains of 13 percent in adults 18-49, 14 percent in adults 25-54 and 10 percent in total viewers.

* Also on Wednesday, "Minute To Win It" scored its top 18-49 rating for a Wednesday edition since July 6. Week to week, "Minute" was up 8 percent in adults 18-49.

* On Friday, "Dateline NBC" reported the #1 rating of the night among non-sports telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and CW in adults 18-49, marking the ninth time this summer "Dateline" has been #1 or tied for #1 among Friday non-sports programs.

* From its first half-hour to its fourth, Friday's "Dateline" grew by 50 percent in adults 18-49 and 44 percent in total viewers.

* On Sunday, NBC Sports' coverage of the San Diego Chargers-Dallas Cowboys preseason football game scored the highest ratings in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures for any NFL pre-season telecast on any network so far this season.

* Sunday's Chargers-Cowboys matchup paced NBC to a primetime win in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures. NBC doubled its closet primetime competitor in 18-49 rating and topped its nearest primetime rival in total viewers by 54 percent or more than 3.3 million persons.

* Also on Sunday, "Dateline NBC" reported its highest adult 18-49 rating for a Sunday telecast since May 22. "Dateline" ranked #1 in its time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of August 15-21:

On Monday, August 15 from 8-10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" delivered a 1.0 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers.

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Harry's Law" (0.8/2 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall) filed the show's top 18-49 rating among five telecasts in this slot so far this summer.

On Tuesday, August 16 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "It's Worth What?" averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 4.2 million viewers overall, maintaining its 18-49 rating of the prior week. From its first half-hour to its second, "It's Worth What?" grew by 10 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.1 from a 1.0).

Tuesday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "America's Got Talent" delivered a 2.8/8 in adults 18-49 and 10.4 million viewers overall, to rank #1 in the time period in total viewers among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW, and finish #1 for the night in total viewers.

In the 10-11 p.m. hour "Talent" beat the ABC-CBS competition combined in 18-49 (2.9 vs. a combined 2.0), total viewers (10.4 million vs. a combined 9.5 million) and all other key categories. From its first hour to its second, "Talent" grew in all key ratings categories, including a gain of 12 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.9 from a 2.6).

NBC is #1 for the night in total viewers, marking the network's 12th consecutive Tuesdays win in that category.

On Wednesday, August 17 at 8 p.m. ET, "Minute To Win It" (1.3/4 in adults 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall) scored its top Wednesday 18-49 rating since July 6. From its first half-hour to its second, "Minute" clocked increases in all key ratings categories, including gains of 27 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.4 rating from a 1.1) and 19 percent in total viewers (5.1 million vs. 4.3 million). Week to week, "Minute" was up 8 percent in 18-49 rating (1.3 vs. 1.2).

Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, a Results Show edition of "America's Got Talent" (2.5/7 in 18-49, 9.7 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in its time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures. In adults 18-49, the "Talent" advantage in the hour among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW was 79 percent in adults 18-49 (2.5 vs. a 1.4 for CBS's second-place "Criminal Minds" encore). In total viewers, the "Talent" margin of victory was 67 percent (9.742 million vs. 5.829 million for the "Criminal Minds" rebroadcast). "Talent" built on its lead-in by 92 percent in 18-49 rating and 106 percent in total viewers.

"America's Got Talent" delivered the top results on television Wednesday night in total viewers.

From its first half-hour to its second, "America's Got Talent" grew in every key ratings category, including gains of 13 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 2.6 rating from a 2.3), 14 percent in adults 25-54 (3.3 vs. 2.9) and 10 percent in total viewers (10.188 vs. 9.295 million).

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Love in the Wild" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and total viewers and #1 outright in adults, men and women 18-34.

On Thursday, August 18 at 8 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "Community" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 1.9 million viewers overall, up 50 percent in 18-49 rating versus the prior week (0.6 vs. 0.4). At 8:30 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Parks and Recreation" (0.6/2 in 18-49, 1.7 million viewers overall) was up 20 percent in 18-49 rating versus the prior week (0.6 vs. 0.5).

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Office" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 2.5 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 67 percent in 18-49 rating. "The Office" increased versus the prior Thursday's telecast by 25 percent in adults 18-49 (1.0 vs. 0.8)

From 9:31-10 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast "30 Rock" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 2.4 million viewers overall) grew week-to-week by 50 percent in 18-49 rating (0.9 vs. 0.6) and 42 percent in total viewers (2.415 million vs. 1.703 million).

Thursday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.1 million viewers overall) was up 13 percent in 18-49 rating versus the prior week (0.9 vs. 0.8) "SVU" grew from its first half-hour to its second in most key ratings categories, including gains of 25 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.0 from a 0.8) and 20 percent in total viewers (3.388 million vs. 2.826 million).

On Friday, August 19 at 8 p.m. ET, "Friends With Benefits" delivered a 0.5/2 in 18-49 and 2.0 million viewers overall. At 8:30, a second episode of "Friends With Benefits" averaged a 0.5/2 in 18-49 and 1.5 million viewers overall.

Friday from 9-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall) reported the #1 non-sports rating of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC or CW in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. It's the ninth time this summer "Dateline NBC" has ranked #1 or tied for #1 among all non-sports Friday telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW.

"Dateline NBC" also ranked #1 in the time period among non-sports programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and CW in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures and was #1 outright in total viewers. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Dateline" grew by 50 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.5 from a 1.0) and 44 percent or 1.8 million persons in total viewers (5.8 million vs. 4.0 million).

This marks the seventh week in a row and the tenth time in its last 11 telecasts that Friday's "Dateline" has ranked #1 or tied for #1 in the slot among non-sports programs on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49.

On Saturday, August 20 from 8-10 p.m. ET, NBC Sports' coverage of the Visa U.S. Gymnastics Championship averaged a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its fourth, the Gymnastics coverage grew by 50 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.9 from a 0.6) and 39 percent in total viewers (3.261 million vs. 2.347 million).

Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" averaged a 0.7/2 in 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall. Week-to-week, the Saturday "SVU" rebroadcast was up 17 percent in 18-49 rating (0.7 vs. 0.6) and 23 percent in total viewers (3.305 million vs. 2.693 million).

On Sunday, August 21, from 7-8 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall) reported its top adult 18-49 rating for a Sunday telecast since May 22. "Dateline" ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox) in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures. From its first half-hour to its second, "Dateline NBC" increased in most key measures, including gains of 17 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.4 rating from a 1.2) and 12 percent in adults 25-54 (1.9 vs. 1.7).

Sunday from 8:08-11:04 p.m. ET, NBC Sports' coverage of the San Diego Chargers-Dallas Cowboys "Sunday Night Football" preseason game averaged a 3.7/10 in 18-49, 10.7 million viewers overall and a 6.4/11 household rating/share.

Sunday's Chargers-Cowboys match-up scored the highest results in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures for any NFL pre-season game on any network so far this season.

Sunday's game was the #1 telecast of the night in 18-49 and total viewers and dominated its time period.

NBC won Sunday night in adults 18-49, doubling its closet primetime competitor among the major networks (3.0 in 18-49 vs. a 1.5 for CBS). In total viewers, NBC topped its nearest primetime rival by 54 percent or more than 3.3 million persons (9.5 million vs. 6.1 million for CBS). NBC also ranked #1 on Sunday night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in all other key demographics - adults, men and women 18-34, men and women 18-49 and adults, men and women 25-54.

Also on Sunday from 8-8:08 p.m. ET, "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 2.2/7 in 18-49, 7.6 million viewers overall and a 4.7/9 in households.
