The 14th Season Premiere Of "South Park" Was The Most-Watched Season Premiere Since 1999 With Over 3.7 Million Total Viewers

"Ugly Americans" Series Premiere Draws 2.1 Million Totals Viewers And Is COMEDY CENTRAL's Highest-Rated Series Premiere Among Young Men Since "Important Things with Demetri Martin"

Animated Hour Were The Top Two Shows In Prime Among Young Men In All Of Television

NEW YORK, March 18, 2010 -- Returning for its 14th season, the Emmy(R) and Peabody(R) Award-winning "South Park" confronted the sex addiction epidemic in America and turned in the series' most-watched season premiere since 1999 with over 3.7 million total viewers (P2+) tuning in, leading COMEDY CENTRAL to its highest-rated and most-watched night of 2010 among Adults 18-49, Men 18-34 and Men 18-24. Also contributing to the all-comedy channel's stellar evening was the series premiere of "Ugly Americans," which had the highest-rated series premiere among young men since the premiere of "Important Things with Demetri Martin." For Wednesday Prime, COMEDY CENTRAL was the highest-rated and most-watched network in all of television among Men 18-24 as well as the highest-rated and most-watched network in cable among Adults 18-49 and Men 18-34.

The season premiere of "South Park" (Wednesday, 10:00-10:30 p.m.) averaged a 2.6 HH rating, 2.4 P18-49 rating, 5.2 M18-34 rating, and 6.9 M18-24 rating and was the #1 show in all of television for Wednesday night among M18-34 and M18-24, as well as the highest-rated and most-watched show in cable for Wednesday night among total viewers (P2+) and Adults 18-49.

Following "South Park" at 10:30 p.m., the series premiere of "Ugly Americans" averaged a 1.5 HH rating, 1.3 P18-49 rating, 3.0 M18-34 rating, and 4.1 M18-24 rating to clock in as the #1 show in all of television in its timeslot (10:30-11:00 p.m.) among M18-34 and M18-24 and the #2 show in all of television for Wednesday Prime among those demos, trailing only "South Park." "Ugly Americans" also trailed only "South Park" in cable for Wednesday Prime among total viewers (P2+) and Adults 18-49, while finishing #1 in its timeslot in that key demographic.

Encore presentations of the season premiere of "South Park" air tonight at 10:30 p.m., Sunday at 11:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. and Monday at 10:00 p.m. Encores of the series premiere of "Ugly Americans" will air tonight at 10:00 p.m., Sunday at 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. and Monday at 10:30 p.m. (all times ET/PT).
