Cable Ratings Round-Up (Week of March 26-April 1): Nick's 'Kids' Choice' Hits High
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The 20th installment of Nickelodeon's "Kids' Choice Awards" boasted its largest audience ever - 6.1 million viewers, making it cable's most-watched program last week.

Also scoring strong numbers: week two of Discovery Channel's "Planet Earth" - 9:00 (5.4 million, #T3) and 10:00 (5.9 million, #2) - and USA's mainstay "WWE Raw" - 9:00 (4.9 million, #5) and 10:00 (5.4 million, #T3).

A new episode of "South Park" (3.2 million, #T10) also finished in the top 15 as did USA's rebroadcast of "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" (4.3 million, #6).

Meanwhile, FX's "Dirt" wrapped its season to the tune 2.4 million viewers while ABC Family's "Wildfire" closed its third go around to slightly more than 1 million viewers.

As for premieres, A&E's "Sons of Hollywood" opened to a modest 947,000 viewers while Comedy Central's "Mind of Mencia" and "Reno 911!" returned to audiences of 1.6 million and 1.3 million, respectively.

And finally, Showtime's "The Tudors" notched 870,000 viewers for its premiere on Sunday, the network's largest series debut in three years - beating out its recent successes "Dexter" (603,000) and "Weeds" (488,000) but falling short of "Fat Actress" (924,000 viewers). An encore at 11:00/10:00c drew 404,000 viewers while a Monday rebroadcast netted 340,000 viewers.

Said debut comes in spite of/thanks to an estimated 1 million people who sampled the show as part of its online/on-demand offerings on Yahoo!, NetFlix, ETOnline.com, Amazon, CinemaNow, Movielink, TVGuide.com and Comcast. It's understood that number is supposed to double once the final numbers from AOL, DirecTV and EchoStar are released.
