SHOWTIME: Viewers Send Death a Message

First 'Dead Like Me' Text Messaging Chat Draws Phenomenal Participation

Tune in Throughout October for More Chats With Your Favorite Characters

NEW YORK, Oct. 6 --

WHAT: This past Sunday's live wireless text messaging chat for Dead Like Me had almost 20 times more participants than any previous text messaging chat that SHOWTIME has hosted. The chat numbers were comparable to online chats, which have been very popular at the network and marked a phenomenal response. Three new text messaging chats are scheduled, beginning this Sunday, Oct. 10.

WHO/WHEN: All chats begin immediately following the east coast airing of Dead Like Me which begins at 10p.m. ET.

* Sunday Oct. 10: viewers can chat with Callum Blue, who stars as Mason, a grim-reaper who deals with his after-life calling with drugs, alcohol and sarcasm.

* Sunday, Oct 17: Christine Willes, George's very quirky, kindhearted boss Delores Herbig and the head of Happy Time Temporary service, will be on the line to answer questions.

* Sunday, Oct 24: Chat with Brett McKillip, who plays Reggie, George's conflicted younger sister who is left to deal with her own grief and the dysfunctional effect George's death has on her parents.

HOW: To sign up for the chat, text the message "YES" to 74689 immediately following the show. If you want to register in advance for wireless updates on Dead Like Me text "DLM" to SHOTV (74688), or visit http://www.sho.com/deadlikeme.com and register by clicking the EMAIL/WIRELESS link.

BACKGROUND: The wireless chats will be available to viewers nationwide, and subscribers of any wireless service can participate. Questions will be received by a moderator to ensure that as many questions as possible will be answered during the half-hour chat. Everyone who signs up for the chat will be able to see the questions and answers on their wireless phones. The Short Messaging Services (SMS) that make the chats possible are being provided by GoldPocket's EM Connect.

BIOS: A native of London, England, Callum Blue has appeared on television in "In Love and War," "As If" and "Shades." Blue's feature film credits include the thriller "Devil's Gate" and the role of "Andrew" in Garry Marshall's "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement." Christine Willes has appeared in dozens of movies and television shows, and is known as one of the more prominent actors and teachers in Vancouver, Canada. Willes recently appeared opposite Christine Lahti in the CBS movie "The Book of Ruth." Willes' recurring roles include Agent Karen Kosseff on "The X-Files," Nurse Tobitt on the UPN series "Mercy Point" and Mrs. Gotteramerding on "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids." Britt McKillip was nominated for a Youth in Film Award in 1999 for her performance in Showtime's IN THE DOGHOUSE. The 13-year-old actress has also worked with directors such as John Badham ("My Brother's Keeper") and Brian De Palma ("Mission to Mars"), appeared twice in the series "The Outer Limits" and provided the voice for Sabrina in the animated television series "Sabrina" as well as the animated feature "Sabrina The Movie." She was the voice of Lola Bunny in "Baby Looney Tunes."

DEAD LIKE ME is a SHOWTIME/MGM Television Entertainment production and is executive produced by John Masius and Stephen Godchaux. Steve Beers is the co-executive producer. The series was created by Bryan Fuller. Randy Runkle is the creative executive for SHOWTIME and Craig Roessler is the creative executive for MGM.
