NEW YORK -- September 13, 2004 - Bravo wraps up the summer as a ratings winner and kicks off the fall with a huge Emmy win for "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy." On Sunday, September 12, 2004, Bravo's hit make-better series was awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Series at the 56th Annual Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Other nominees in the category include Colonial House," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Penn & Teller: Bullshit!," and "Project Greenlight."

The award was presented to the Fab 5: Carson Kressley, Thom Filicia, Jai Rodriguez, Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas; Executive Producers for Scout Productions: David Collins, Michael Williams, David Meltzer; Executive Producers for Bravo: Frances Berwick, Amy Introcaso-Davis, Christian Barcellos; Lynn Sadofsky, Supervising Producer for Scout Productions and Jill Danton, Producer for Scout Productions.

"We're so pleased that Queer Eye has been recognized so quickly by the Academy for its impact on the pop cultural landscape," said Lauren Zalaznick, President of Bravo. "The Fab 5 bring an intelligence, warmth, and humor to the show that makes it stand out from the rest of the reality pack."

The Emmy win follows on the heels of a winning summer of red-hot ratings that featured some of the strongest viewer numbers in the network's history, including record-breaking July results. For the period of May 31- Aug. 12 (the summer months excluding Olympic weeks), Bravo was up 39 percent in 25-54 viewers and 45 percent in 18-49 viewers versus the comparable dates last year. Over this period, Bravo averaged 350,000 viewers among adults 25-54 and 334,000 viewers among adults 18-49.

In July of 2004, Bravo recorded best-ever prime deliveries in both the adults 25-54 and 18-49 categories for any July in the network's history, averaging 330,000 viewers among adults 25-54 and 323,000 viewers among adults 18-49.

Bravo's original series continue to deliver the network's most spectacular numbers, showing great momentum as the summer progressed. "Celebrity Poker Showdown" proved to be a certified hit when the second and third tournaments premiered on Thursdays this summer. The episodes averaged 587,000 viewers in the adults 18-49 category and 620,000 viewers among adults 25-54, an increase of 146 percent and 129 percent respectively, from the time period performance over the same dates last summer. The final episode of the run averaged a monstrous 856,000 viewers 18-49 and 799,000 viewers 25-54, the highest deliveries for any episode since the series moved to Thursday nights.

"The success of the network this summer proves that Bravo continues to stand out," said Zalaznick. "Our original series continue to grow and find new and younger audiences, making Bravo the best pop culture and arts destination on cable."

Over its six-episode run, Bravo's newest hit, "Blow Out," averaged 588,000 viewers among adults 25-54 and 578,000 adults 18-49, a 97 percent increase in adults 25-54 and a 111 percent jump in adults 18-49 in the time period over the same dates last year. Like "Celebrity Poker Showdown," "Blow Out" continued to grow throughout the run by as much as 94 percent in the adults 25-54 category, culminating in record ratings for the season finale -- 876,000 adults 25-54, 844,000 adults 18-49 and more than one million viewers overall.

Bravo's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," continued to be the dominant network leader, averaging over one million viewers among both adults 25-54 and 18-49 in originals this summer. These viewer totals surpass Bravo's prime summer average before the Olympics by 208 percent in adults 25-54 and 212 percent in adults 18-49.

Bravo continues to draw younger audiences with new movies and original series. The young-skewing movies "Office Space" and "Pulp Fiction," for example, garnered one of Bravo's top 10 Saturday night performances in network history among adults 18-49. Bravo also successfully launched the reality series "Things I Hate About You" this summer, which became Bravo's youngest-skewing original series of the summer based on median age, 36.3.

To date in 2004, Bravo is leading all cable networks in viewer increases among adults 18-49 over 2003 in the 7pm-2am time period with a 64 percent jump, and is tied for second among viewers 25-54.
