(Deadline.com, 1/29)
BORROWED TIME (FOX, New!) - David Slack, Josh Campbell, and Matt Stuecken have sold a new drama to the network: "Neuroscientist Mimi Peters is working to extract memories from the human brain. Jeremy enters the world of The Cleaning Lady as a contractor-turned-entrepreneur, building his business with a personal approach." And Tadena is Paolo Belleza, "a fun-loving and charming guy with a breezy sense of humor and sexy confidence. Paolo owns and operates a "Turo Turo" food stall in Manila where he is loved by his community and has an intimate connection with the De La Rosa family." (Deadline.com, 1/31)
DARK PLACES (HBO, New!) - Gillian Flynn, Brett Johnson and Guerrin Gardner are set to team for a limited series take on the former's 2009 novel at the pay channel: "Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in the famous 1985 'Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas.' She survived-and famously testified that her teenage brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, a pair of mother/daughter true crime 'detectives' locate a grownup Libby and pump her for details, believing that Ben is innocent. Libby, having spent her youth working the talk show circuit, hopes to once again turn a profit off her tragic history: She'll reconnect with the players from that night and report her findings - for a fee. As Libby's search takes her from shabby Missouri strip clubs to abandoned Oklahoma tourist traps, the unimaginable truth emerges, and Libby finds herself right back where she started-on the run from a killer." Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity of Blue Marble Pictures will also executive produce, as will Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi of Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment. Charlize Theron toplined the book's 2015 film adaptation. (Variety.com, 1/30)
DAVE (FXX) - Creator/star Dave Burd is taking an indefinite break from the series after three seasons. "Making Dave has been and continues to be a dream come true," he said. "But there are other creative ventures that I am dying to pursue as well. For the past 5 years, I've poured every fiber of my being into the show, and after three amazing seasons, this feels like a good time to press pause to give myself the bandwidth to do some of the other things I have always wanted to do. I am beyond excited about what I have planned for the future and am enormously appreciative of FX for their continued partnership." Added the network in a statement: "After some back and forth, there are no current plans for a fourth season of Dave right now, as Dave Burd has decided to take an extended break to focus on music and other ventures,. That does not rule out the possibility of doing something in the future. We love the show and sincerely appreciate the creative excellence Dave, Jeff Schaffer, the cast and crew delivered with every episode. We are excited that our partnership with Dave will continue as he develops future projects for us through his overall production deal with FXP." (Deadline.com, 2/1)
ELSBETH (CBS) - Gloria Reuben has been cast as "the wife of Captain Wagner (Wendell Pierce)" in the upcoming series. (TVLine.com, 1/31)

MARGO'S GOT MONEY TROUBLES (Apple TV+, New!) - The streamer has given a straight-to-series order to A24 for an eight-part series, "which is set in the world of OnlyFans with a wrestling twist." Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman are both attached to star in the project, which is based on the upcoming book by Rufi Thorpe. All three will executive produce alongside David E. Kelley, Dakota Fanning, Matthew Tinker, Checka Propper, Brittany Kahan Ward and Per Saari for Lewellen Pictures, David E. Kelley Productions and Blossom Films. PACT, THE (CBS) - The proposed drama remains under consideration after receiving a script-to-series order this time last year. Amy Reisenbach, the network's head of current programming, told the publication: "Absolutely, The Pact is very much active. We brought on Ayanna Floyd who's co-writing with Marcus Dalzine. That was always one where we felt like we wanted to go back and do some re-imagining and rethinking on that pilot script before we opened the room because it's really important that we have that script in good shape first, and we had some broader ideas on the project itself that we wanted to tackle before we opened up the room. The Pact is very much a priority for us. And yes, that's a perfect example of something that we're targeting more for 25-26 at this point." (Deadline.com, 1/31)
SAVANT, THE (Apple TV+) - Nnamdi Asomugha will star opposite Jessica Chastain in the eight-episode limited series, about "a top-secret investigator known as the Savant, who infiltrates online hate groups to take down the most violent men in the country. Drake and production company Cowboy would both return to produce should it move forward. (Deadline.com, 1/30)
WHITE LOTUS, THE (HBO) - Miloš Biković is being dropped from the show's third season "after Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called out HBO over the casting of Biković." In his statement, Biković called the events of the last week "a targeted campaign [that] has been unleashed against me, seemingly as an external maneuver to influence decisions that can create a disturbing precedent shadowing the essence of artistic freedom." (Deadline.com, 2/2)
WHITSTABLE PEARL (Acorn TV) - The streamer has commissioned a third season of the Kerry Godliman-led drama series based on the mystery novels by Julie Wassmer: "In Season 3 of the show from Crime producer Buccaneer, Godliman returns to build her private detective business, finding herself involved in more diverse investigations, including reopening an infamous local cold case and the death of a famous food critic. She's aided and abetted by her outspoken, feisty mum Dolly and still going strong with boyfriend Tom, but it's navigating her complex relationship with DCI Mike McGuire that still proves Pearl's most challenging case."
