"#CYBERSLEUTHS: THE IDAHO MURDERS" TO PREMIERE ON PARAMOUNT+ ON FEBRUARY 6

Three-Part Docuseries Unravels the Surging World of the Online Sleuths Who Have Taken on the Savage Slaying of Four University of Idaho Students

January 18, 2024 - Paramount+ announced today that the three-part docuseries #CYBERSLEUTHS: THE IDAHO MURDERS will premiere exclusively on the service, beginning Tuesday, February 6. Directed by Lucie Jourdan (Our Father) and produced by Bungalow Media + Entertainment (Little Richard: I Am Everything), the series follows an obsessed group of TikTok true-crime sleuths as they sift through clues, explore leads and try to unravel the brutal murders of four students at the University of Idaho.

The case has gripped public attention since November 13, 2022, when students Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle were found dead in a blood-soaked off-campus house in Moscow, Idaho. Weeks passed without a suspect, which led to widespread speculation that perhaps the small town's police department was in over its head. The absence of any solid lead created an information vacuum that the TikTokers were eager to fill as this whodunit case mushroomed into an American obsession.

#CYBERSLEUTHS: THE IDAHO MURDERS follows a dynamic group of amateur TikTok detectives, led by #chroniclesofolivia, in their attempt to separate rumor from fact while examining police statements and hunting for digital clues. These amateur detectives are not restricted to follow police procedures. In the series, they visit the crime scene, speak to victims' families, and dig up potential witnesses while activating an online community that is brimming with theories and possible suspects. Was the killer a roommate, a jealous ex or a complete stranger? Did he or she act alone, or were there accomplices? As the investigation goes into viral overdrive with fingers pointed in all directions, innocent lives are upended. #CYBERSLEUTHS: THE IDAHO MURDERS ultimately raises the question: Do TikTok sleuths do more harm than good?

#CYBERSLEUTHS: THE IDAHO MURDERS is directed by Lucie Jourdan. Executive Producers are Robert Friedman and Mike Powers for Bungalow, Teresa Sorkin for JBella Media, and Lucie Jourdan and Megan Lawrence. Co-executive producer is Lindsey Savino. For See It Now Studios, Susan Zirinsky and Terence Wrong executive produce, and Aysu Saliba and Cara Tortora are supervising producers.
