BABY-SITTERS CLUB, THE (Netflix) - The streamer has nixed the series after two seasons. "I have wanted to be a part of the world Ann M. Martin created since I was 7 years old, and for two amazing seasons I actually got to be. It was a dream come true," Rachel Shukert said in a statement. "Although I am heartbroken not to be returning to Stoneybrook for 20 more seasons, I am so proud of the incredible show our amazing cast and crew created and the way it brought joy and comfort to so many when they needed it most. Thank you to Walden Media and to Netflix for giving us the opportunity to introduce Kristy, Claudia, Stacey, Mary Anne, Dawn, Jessi and Mallory to a new generation of fans who I know will love them as much as we do for years to come." GENTLEMEN, THE (Netflix, New!) - Guy Ritchie is in talks to bring his 2019 film - which "follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey), who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London" - to the small screen at the streaming service. Ritchie co-write the pilot script and is attached to direct the first two episodes. Ivan Atkinson, Marn Davies, Bill Block, Marc Helwig, Will Gould and Matthew Read will also executive produce for Miramax Television and Moonage Pictures. (Deadline.com)
L.A. LAW (ABC) - Jill Eikenberry will guest star in the revival series pilot as her original series character, Ann Kelsey, who's now a judge. (Deadline.com)
LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME (NBC) - Dann Florek will reprise his "Law & Order: SVU" role of Captain Donald Cragen in the spin-off series' April 7 episode. (TVLine.com)
UNBROKEN (NBC) - Anna Wood, Oluniké Adeliyi, Amanda Payton and Delon de Metz are the first to be cast in the drama pilot, which has also added Bronwen Hughes as director and executive producer. Wood will play Joss, "a fearless survivor and self-sufficient woman who lives a nomadic life with her young daughter"; with Adeliyi as Ndidi "Dee" Stanton, "a first-generation Nigerian-American who worked in the hospitality industry before meeting her future husband, a rodeo cowboy in her hometown of Omaha"; Payton as Ella, "the vibrant and creative winemaker at the ranch"; and De Metz as Cole, "the young man who runs the trail-riding operation at the ranch and is still searching for his true place in the family." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED SCOTT PRENDERGAST PROJECT (CBS) - Oscar winner Geena Davis is set to star in the drama pilot, which centers on "a talented but directionless P.I. who begrudgingly agrees to work as the in-house investigator for his overbearing mother Joan, a successful attorney reeling from the recent dissolution of her marriage (played by Davis)." Joan is further described as "a "razor-sharp" lawyer "and a self-made success who put herself through law school to support her three kids when her first husband died. Very controlling and always aware of appearances, Joan must rely on Todd, her least reliable child, when her second marriage mysteriously unravels. And while she can't condone Todd's less than legal tactics, she's impressed by his ability to sleuth out information." (TVLine.com)
WALKER: INDEPENDENCE (The CW) - Lawrence Kao is the latest to be cast in the prequel series pilot as Kai: "A younger Chinese man with a kind face, fluent in English, Kai runs a local laundry, in partner with the older, more taciturn Bowen Sing. A former railroad worker, Kai has settled into his new life in Independence, where he meets Abby. He quickly befriends her, offering Abby her first meal and a friendly word of advice about staying in Independence." (Deadline.com)
YOUNG ROCK (NBC) - Arlyn Broche has been cast as Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson's college sweetheart-turned-ex-wife-and-business-partner, in the comedy series. (Variety.com)
