ECHOES (Netflix) - Daniel Sunjata is the latest to board the Michelle Monaghan-led drama series as Gina's husband, Charlie Davenport: "The quintessential Los Angeles psychotherapist, he is empathetic, charismatic with an intellect to match. Married to Gina, he finds himself caught in the undertow of her deep connection to twin Leni. But he has a hidden dimension as well. One that will complicate both sisters' lives." (Deadline.com)
HEERAMANDI (Netflix, New!) - Sanjay Leela Bhansali has landed "a sprawling, epic period series about the courtesans of Lahore in pre-independent, undivided India" at the streaming service. "It's a series about love, betrayal, succession and politics in the kothas through three generations of tawaifs, which promises Sanjay Leela Bhansali's trademark larger than life sets, multi-faceted characters and soulful compositions," Netflix said in a statement. No other auspices were given. (THR.com)
HOW I MET YOUR FATHER (Hulu) - Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran and Suraj Sharma will round out the cast of the Hilary Duff-led spin-off series. Raisa will play Valentina, "Sophie's (Duff) roommate. She's an aspiring stylist and Sophie's great friend. She's impulsive and adventurous and Sophie relies on Valentina's ability to cheer her up when she gets down. Valentina has just come back from London Fashion Week with the gorgeous, British Charlie." Ainsley plays Charlie, "an aspiring model who fell in love with Sophie's roommate Valentina (Raisa) (an aspiring stylist) at London Fashion Week and followed her to New York. The son of conservative aristocrats, Charlie's a great guy but he's been living in a rich person's bubble his whole life." Tran is Ellen, "Jesse's adopted sister, who just moved to New York from a small farming town after separating from her wife. Ellen's more comfortable on an organic lettuce field than in a Brooklyn dive bar." And Sharma portrays Sid, "Jesse's best friend and roomate. He's a new bar owner and plays the optimist to Jesse's cynicism." (Deadline.com)
POKER FACE (Peacock) - Nora and Lilla Zuckerman have been tapped to serve as co-showrunners of the streamer's top secret mystery series from MRC Television. Director Rian Johnson, star Natasha Lyonne, Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue are also among the executive producers with Maya Rudolph and Danielle Renfrew Behrens co-executive producing. (Variety.com)
RHONDA MITCHELL M.D. (NBC, New!) - Carolyn Pierre-Outlar is looking to bring her web series to the small screen at the network, which "focuses on an overbearing doctor after she takes over her father's Harlem-based practice and struggles to balance her personal and professional life while managing an irreverent group of patients and co-workers." Roy Wood, Jr. is on board to executive produce the half-hour for Universal Television with Pierre-Outlar as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
SHINING VALE (Starz) - Judith Light is bound for the upcoming horror comedy series as Joan, "Pat's (Courtney Cox) Lithium-infused mother, who has long battled mental illness, and her daughter... (who she blames for her mental illness). Joan is vain and hyper-critical, taking any opportunity to recall her prized youth, or belittle Pat. Of all the horrors that Pat faces, becoming Joan is the most frightening - and most real." (Deadline.com)
SUPER PUMPED (Showtime) - Babak Tafti and Mousa Hussein Kraish have landed roles opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kyle Chandler in the anthology series. Tafti will play Emil Michael, "who is Uber's dealmaker-in-chief and right-hand man to Kalanick." Kraish then will portray Fawzi Kamel, "the Uber driver whose interaction with Kalanick went viral."
