ACTS OF CRIME/UNTITLED CDC PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Sam Esmail has set up a pair of dramas at the Alphabet. "Acts of Crime," which has landed a production commitment, is "described as a unique spin on the crime procedural." Esmail will write and direct for his UCP-based Esmail Corp with the company's Chad Hamilton also executive producing. "Untitled CDC Project," which has received a put pilot commitment, is looking for a writer. No plot specifics were given. (Deadline.com)
ALL RISE (CBS) - Audrey Corsa - who plays Samantha Powell, "a young, ambitious law clerk in the DDA's office bullpen" - has been named a regular for the series' upcoming second season. (Deadline.com)
AMERICA'S GOT TALENT (NBC) - The network and Gabrielle Union have reached "an amicable resolution" following the former judge's claims of misconduct and racial discrimination on the show. "NBC Entertainment appreciates the important concerns raised by Gabrielle Union and remains committed to ensuring an inclusive and supportive working environment where people of all backgrounds can be treated with respect," the two said in a joint statement. AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE/THE BOONDOCKS, THE/SHIVERING TRUTH, THE (Adult Swim) - Various episodes from the aforementioned series have been "permanently retired due to cultural sensitivities." (TheDailyBeast.com)
BLACK EQUALS BEAUTY (Quibi, New!) - Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere, Holly Carter and Cassian Elwes are set to team for a four-part series at the streaming service which "seeks to shine a light on influential Black women who have impacted American style, beauty and culture." Nneka Onuorah is directing the project, a co-production of Flavor Unit Entertainment, Relevé Entertainment, Lionsgate Television, and Elevated Films. (Deadline.com)
CHICAGO MED (NBC) - The series will pause filming for the next two weeks following a positive COVID-19 test from "a production team member from a Zone A department." Said delay will not impact its delivery date for the new season, which is slated to premiere on November 11. (Deadline.com)
DR. DEATH (Peacock) - Maggie Kiley has signed on to helm and executive produce the first two episodes of the limited series. She replaces Stephen Frears, who "had to step away due to scheduling conflicts given the shift of production dates due to coronavirus pandemic." Other planned helmers include Jennifer Morrison and So Yong Kim. (Deadline.com)
LEGACIES (The CW) - Leo Howard's Ethan - "a student at Mystic Falls High School and son of Sheriff Mac (Bianca Kajlich)" - is the latest to be named regular on the series. (Deadline.com)

LUIS MIGUEL - THE SERIES (Netflix) - Filming is now underway on the show's second season. New to the cast for its sophomore run are Macarena Achaga as Michelle, Fernando Guallar as Mauricio Ambrosi, Pablo Cruz Guerrero as Patricio Robles, Juan Ignacio Cane as José Pérez, Teresa Ruiz as Azucena, Valery Sais as young Michelle, and Axel Llunas as young Sergio Basteri. They join the previously announced Diego Boneta, Camila Sodi, Cesar Bordon, Juan Pablo Zurita, Cesar Santana, Martin Bello, Lola Casamayor, Pilar Santacruz, Kevin Holt and Gabriel Nuncio. ONE DAY AT A TIME (Pop) - Executive producer Gloria Calderon Kellett confirmed the show's animated special "The Politics Episode" is the fourth season's de facto finale. The remaining planned installments may be rolled into a potential fifth season, should it be ordered. (Deadline.com)
OUR KIND OF PEOPLE (FOX) - The network has opened a writers' room for Karin Gist's proposed drama, which "centers on single mom Angela Vaughn, who risks it all and moves her family to Martha's Vineyard with hopes of taking her natural hair care line to the next level by infiltrating the African American elite in Oak Bluffs. But she soon discovers a secret about her past that just might change her position and shake up her life and this influential community forever." Said decision is with an eye for a potential straight-to-series order for the 2021-22 season. (Deadline.com)
RIVERDALE (The CW) - Erinn Westbrook has joined the cast of the upcoming fifth season as Tabitha Tate, "the ambitious, entrepreneurial granddaughter of Pop Tate, who has come to Riverdale to take over Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe in the hopes of franchising the iconic diner, even as the town around it struggles to survive." VANCOUVER SERIES PRODUCTIONS (Various) - "Riverdale," "A Million Little Things," "Charmed," "Big Sky," "Batwoman," "The Mighty Ducks," "Nancy Drew" and "Maid" have all reportedly suspended filming over delays in receiving COVID-19 test results for their casts and crew. Said developments have also pushed the planned starts of "The Flash," "Supergirl" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow." (Deadline.com)
