BRITNEY (Lifetime) - Nathan Keyes has been cast as Justin Timberlake in Lifetime's upcoming Britney Spears biopic. (TVLine.com)
CHICAGO JUSTICE (NBC) - Jon Seda's Antonio Dawson will make the move from "Chicago P.D." to the newest spin-off as his character "will now be an investigator for the DA's office. Dawson will be partnered with fellow investigator Lori Nagle, played by Joelle Carter." As a result, Nagle's partner from the backdoor pilot, Daren Okada (Ryan-James Hatanaka), will be written out. (Deadline.com)
DAMNATION (USA) - Co-star Aden Young has bowed out of the drama pilot just days before filming was to begin over creative differences. (Deadline.com)
DEAR WHITE PEOPLE (Netflix) - Jemar Michael has scored an arc on the film-turned-TV series as Al, "an exuberant, ethnically ambiguous student leader of the Black American Forum (Black AF) - a more radical rival to Winchester's Black Student Union." Michael previously appeared in the feature as Smoothe. (Deadline.com)
EDGE, THE (FOX, New!) - James Larosa ("Hit the Floor") has set up a potential drama at the network "set in the LA dance world, where it's survival of the fittest and no one is more fit than this ensemble of ambitious, sometimes ruthless women and men who have trained their whole lives to be the best and won't let anything - or anyone - get in their way." Director Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical") and actress Jennifer Beals (Flashdance) are also attached to the project as executive producers with Annie Burgstede and Joanna Colbert co-executive producing for Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)
G.L.O.W. (Netflix) - Gayle Rankin has signed onto the upcoming comedy series as wrestler Sheila the She Wolf. (Variety.com)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE (Hulu) - Amanda Brugel (Room) will recur on the upcoming drama as Rita, the Waterfords' (Joseph Fiennes and Yvonne Strahovski) housekeeper. (Deadline.com)
IMAGINARY MARY (ABC) - The Alphabet has quietly trimmed the order for the midseason comedy from 13 to nine episodes. Said report indicates the "decision was made to make some tweaks to the animation which require more time to complete." (Deadline.com)
ITALIAN JOB, THE (NBC, New!) - Rob Weiss and Benjamin Brand have set up a small screen take on the classic 1969 film (which also spawned a 2003 remake) about "a make-shift family of expert criminals, who are forced out of retirement when an opportunity arises to get their beloved "patriarch" out of jail." Paramount Television is behind the project, which has a penalty attached. Donald De Line will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
LAW & ORDER: SVU (NBC) - Singer Wyclef Jean will guest star on the veteran drama as "a big-time music producer whose newest and hottest client is embroiled in an assault case." (TVLine.com)
LIBBY & MALCOLM (ABC, New!) - Felicity Huffman is attached to star in a potential single-camera comedy at the Alphabet billed as "a very real look at how today's "politics of division" play out between two opposing pundits who also happen to be married. One's black, one's white; one's left, one's right. Bitter rivals at work on their pundit show Black & Wright, they have to turn conflict into compromise at home when it comes to raising their kids." Kenya Barris and Vijal Patel will pen the half-hour for the ABC Studios-based Khalabo Ink Society with Huffman and Principato-Young Entertainment's E. Brian Dobbins likewise executive producing. Huffman's involvement succeeds her commitment to "House of Moore" at the network. (Deadline.com)
LOST IN SPACE (Netflix) - Molly Parker ("House of Cards") has been tapped as Maureen Robinson, "a fearless and brilliant aerospace engineer who makes the decision to bring her family to space for a chance at a new life on a better world," on the remake of the 1960s series. (Deadline.com)
MAGICIANS, THE (Syfy) - Christopher Gorham ("Covert Affairs") will recur on the new season as Senator John Gaines, "who discovers he's in possession of unusual abilities." (Deadline.com)
MAIL ORDER FAMILY (NBC, New!) - "Superstore's" Jackie Clarke, Ruben Fleischer and David Bernad have sold a new comedy to the Peacock about "a widowed single father who orders a mail-order bride from the Philippines to help raise his two preteen daughters." The presumably single-camera project is being penned by Clarke and is loosely based on his family. Fleischer is attached to direct and executive produce alongside Bernad via their The District banner for Universal Television. Josh Bycel and Jonathan Fener are also on board to executive produce. (Deadline.com)
MIDDLE, THE (ABC) - Brooke Shields will reprise her role of Rita, the "mullet-donning, cigarette-smoking, tattooed foe" of the Hecks, later this season. (EW.com)
MONSTERS OF GOD (TNT) - Garret Dillahunt ("Hand of God") has booked the lead role on the drama pilot. In "Monsters of God," savagery and violence are the cornerstones of Colonel "Terrible" Bill Lancaster's holy war against the Comanche in post-Civil War Texas. Despite the peaceful co-existence between the Comanche and local townspeople, Lancaster sets out on a quest to kill off every single member of the tribe, bringing wild chaos to the town of Slater. Meanwhile, his wife, Cynthia Lancaster, will let no one get in the way of her obsessive quest to institute her wildly feminist ideals, even if she has to challenge the United States Army and make her own allegiance with the Comanche women. Whether by force or free will, change is coming to Texas, and the escalating insanity will reveal humanity at its most monstrous. (Deadline.com)
MY BAD PARENT (FOX, New!) - Alex Carter ("Family Guy") has sold single-camera comedy to the network about "a blue-collar, loving-but-imperfect family with a point of view that alternates between the blunt working mother and her pubescent son." The project, which has a penalty attached, is inspired by the book and blog of the same name. John Krasinski of Sunday Night Productions, Allyson Seeger, Todd Hoffman and Dennis Kim will likewise executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television and Storied Media Group. (Variety.com)
OUTCAST (Cinemax) - C. Thomas Howell has scored an arc on the show's second season as "a mysterious figure with a dark agenda who comes to Rome." (Deadline.com)
SHE'S GOTTA HAVE IT (Netflix) - Anthony Ramos (Hamilton) is the first to be cast in the Spike Lee's small screen take on the feature film. He'll pay Mars, portrayed in the movie by Lee. (Deadline.com)
UNDERLINGS, THE (FOX, New!) - Leila Gerstein ("Hart of Dixie") has booked a potential drama at the network "set at a corporate law firm fueled by greed where a group of beleaguered, hapless assistants, led by a plucky paralegal, resolves to right the wrongs of their evil bosses and clients." Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor will also executive produce the project, which has a penalty attached, for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
