BATES MOTEL (A&E) - Brooke Smith ("Grey's Anatomy") has signed onto the show's final season as Sheriff Dana Green, "the new face of the law in White Pine Bay." (TVLine.com)
G.L.O.W. (Netflix) - Britt Baron, Jackie Tohn, Kimmy Gatewood, Rebekka Johnson, Kate Nash, Sunita Mani and Kia Stevens have all been cast in the Jenji Kohan-produced series. Baron plays Justine, "a teenage runaway"; with Tohn as Melrose, "a Hollywood party girl"; Gatewood and Johnson as Stacey and Dawn, "best friends/hairdressers"; Nash as Rhonda, "a British print model"; Mani as Arthie, "a med student with Hollywood dreams"; and Steven as Tammé, "an 80's TV actress who is always the guest star, never the star." GILMORE GIRLS (Netflix) - Carolyn Hennesy ("General Hospital") will recur on the show's Netflix revival as Toni, "a member of The DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). Described as upper-crust, someone who likes to keep things orderly and does not appreciate dissension, Toni has been in the "club" for years with Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop)." (Variety.com)

LIFE SENTENCE (The CW, New!) - Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith ("Significant Mother") has booked a new dramedy at the netlet about "a young woman diagnosed with terminal cancer. When she finds out that she's not dying after all, she has to learn to live with the choices she made when she decided to live like she was dying." Warner Bros. Television-based Doozer is behind the hour with the company's Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
MAGNUM (ABC, New!) - John Rogers ("The Player") is spearheading a sequel to the classic Tom Selleck-led series "Magnum P.I." at the Alphabet. The project, which has a substantial penalty attached, follows Magnum's daughter, Lily "Tommy" Magnum, "who returns to Hawaii to take up the mantle of her father's PI firm. She and her tribe of friends mix tropical beaches with the seedy underbelly of international crime and modern espionage, even as she tries to unravel the mystery of the blown spy operation that ended her career in Navy Intelligence." UnbeliEVAble Entertainment's Eva Longoria and Ben Spector as well as Kung Fu Monkey's Jennifer Court will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)

POSTAL (Hulu, New!) - Seth Hoffman ("The Walking Dead") is spearheading a small screen take on Matt Hawkins and Bryan Hill's Top Cow comic book about Eden, "a unique town populated and run by fugitive criminals. In Eden, everyone has a secret past, but they come here for a second chance, redemption and the opportunity to be someone new... until their pasts come back to haunt them." THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD (NBC, New!) - Comedian Ron Funches ("Undateable") has sold a single-camera comedy to the Peacock about "the first white family to move into a predominantly black, newly gentrifying neighborhood in Cleveland." Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan will co-write the Warner Bros. Television-based half-hour, which has a penalty attached, alongside Funches with SpringHill Entertainment's LeBron James and Maverick Carter as well as Doozer Productions' Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold likewise executive producing. THIS MIGHT HURT (FOX, New!) - Jason Winer is looking to revive his 2008 single-camera comedy at FOX about "the brilliant doctors at Wilshire Wellness who struggle to conceal the fact that their multi-specialty private practice has become an ethical and interpersonal sh*t-show." Ethan Sandler and Adrian Wenner ("New Girl") will co-write the new incarnation, which has script commitment plus penalty, with Small Dog Picture Company's Winer presumably returning to direct for 20th Century Fox Television. UNTITLED EMMETT TILL PROJECT (HBO) - Steven Caple, Jr. (The Land) has been tapped to pen the mini-series, which is based on the book "Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked The World And Propelled The Civil Rights Movement" by Devery Anderson. Roc Nation's Jay-Z, Jay Brown and Ty Ty Smith; Overbrook Entertainment's Will Smith and James Lassiter; Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan; The Affleck Middleton Project's Casey Affleck and John Middleton; Serendipity Film Group's Rosanna Grace as well as Alex Foster and David Clark are the executive producers.
