AFTERMATH (Syfy; W: Glenn Davis & William Laurin; D: Jason Stone) - Husband-and-wife duo James Tupper and Anne Heche has signed onto the upcoming drama, which centers on one family: Karen and Joshua Copeland and their children Dana (Julia Sarah Stone), Brianna (Taylor Hickson) and Matt (Levi Meaden), who must battle for survival after civilization comes to an apocalyptic end, triggered by massive storms, meteor strikes, earthquakes and plague - and the rise of supernatural creatures. They'll play the aforementioned parents. (Deadline.com)


BLOOMS (MTV/UCP; W: Walter Mosley; D: TBA) - Max and Charlie Carver have agreed to star in the Drew Barrymore-produced pilot, "a crime drama/coming-of-age story of twentysomething twin brothers, Andrew and Elliott Bloom, who learn of one another's existence upon the murder of their father. In turn, they inherit a hand-crafted secret criminal empire he's left them - with many strings attached." Said duo were previously on board the project as co-executive producers. (THR.com)


DARKOVER (Amazon; W: Elizabeth Sarnoff & Patrick Macmanus; D: TBA) - Elizabeth Sarnoff and Patrick Macmanus have been tapped to spearhead the streaming service's adaptation of Marion Zimmer Bradley's 25-book book series, set on the exotic planet of Darkover. Ilene Kahn Power and Elizabeth Stanley will also serve as executive producers for IM Global Television. (Deadline.com)


DAWN (Hulu, New!) - Director Robert Stromberg (Maleficent) is set to team with writers Hank Steinberg ("The Last Ship") and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) for a new drama pilot at the streaming service which "follows a tribe of Neanderthals as they struggle to survive and hold on to their way of life after coming into contact with a family of Homo Sapiens." Fola Evans-Akingbola (Pakalan), Temuera Morrison (Wikkanak), Carl Shaaban (Buzur) and Matthew Hopkinson (Kamak) are in final negotiations to star in the project, which is set up at MGM Television with the aforementioned trio presumably executive producing. Shirley MacLaine and Matthew Broderick are attached to star in a potential adaptation of "Bettyville," journalist George Hodgman's best-selling memoir, from Paramount Television (Deadline.com); Drew Brown's Fascination Street banner has signed a two-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television (Deadline.com); Mary Lynn Rajskub's one-woman show "24 Hours with Mary Lynn Rajskub" is being eyed as a TV project by Nancy Cartwright's Spotted Cow banner (THR.com); Stacy Keach is bound for two episodes of "Ray Donovan" as "a retired fixer from Ray's (Liev Schreiber) past" (Variety.com); and Timbaland is looking to develop his upcoming album "Opera Noir" as a musical for TV (Variety.com).
