THIS NOVEMBER, DISCOVERY FAMILY CHANNEL'S "PROJECT THANK YOU" ENCOURAGES AND EMPOWERS VIEWERS TO HAVE AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

- Discovery Family Inspires Audiences to Truly Give Thanks, With the November 11th Premiere of Original Series LOST & FOUND, an On-Air "Thank You" Ticker, and "Thank You"-Inspired Vignettes from Top Indie Production Companies -

(Silver Spring, Md) - National Thank You Day (September 15) is the perfect occasion to acknowledge and appreciate someone who has been influential in your life - from parents, to teachers, to the crossing guard you see every day. Discovery Family Channel extends the sentiment into the Thanksgiving season with PROJECT THANK YOU, a multiplatform campaign beginning November 1 designed to bring people together for one reason - to say thanks. With a full month of gratitude-focused programming, vignettes, social media campaigns and digital elements, PROJECT THANK YOU will provide viewers with the resources and inspiration to give thanks. PROJECT THANK YOU will also feature the highly anticipated world premiere of Discovery Family's original series LOST & FOUND on Wednesday, November 11 at 10/9c.

"Thanksgiving is a time to gather together and be grateful for family, friends and the life we have," said Tom Cosgrove, general manager, Discovery Family Channel. "During the season of giving, Discovery Family will show families that there are many different ways to demonstrate appreciation to someone or something influential in your life - from reuniting someone with a long lost and beloved heirloom, to giving back to your local community, to simply taking the time to say those two meaningful words: Thank You."

PROJECT THANK YOU is anchored by the debut of Discovery Family Channel's all-new original series, LOST & FOUND. Produced by Leftfield Pictures, this eight-part series follows Mike Schario and Jesse Brown, owners of Finders Keepers, a Sugar Creek, Ohio "weird-tique" shop filled to the brim with pop culture memorabilia from the past 50 years. On the side, Mike and Jesse are also veritable treasure hunters hired to track down long lost, but much loved, items. From an antique watch, to a vintage Coca-Cola wall clock, to a Japanese Peace Flag from WWII, Mike and Jesse leave no stone unturned as they take their expertise on the road to help families across America find a misplaced or significant personal item to show gratitude, provide closure, and bring back cherished memories.

(Disney ABC).

As part of PROJECT THANK YOU, Discovery Family teamed up with six top independent production companies to create customized :60 vignettes around the topic of giving thanks. These heartwarming shorts feature the poignant stories of people from across the United States thanking those who have made a difference in their lives, families or communities. The :60 vignettes will run on-air throughout the month of November, with extended versions available online at DiscoveryFamilyChannel.com.

About the vignettes:

· City of Atlanta Sanitation Workers Thanked by Local Community (Produced by Bark Bark, Atlanta): A neighborhood bands together to thank the men who keep their community clean in a most unexpected fashion - with a Phoenix Award, the city's highest honor, presented by City of Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed.

· Thank You Booth (Produced by Radley, Los Angeles): One day, the Cahuenga General Store in NoHo's Art District gave all patrons lunch on the house. They only asked that in return, each person film a one minute message in the "Thank You" video booth to someone who has positively impacted their lives.

· Surprise Thank You for Sean Casey (Produced by IKA, New York): The Sean Casey Animal Rescue is one of the few shelters that will take in and rehab the most difficult medical cases. Now, the families who have adopted pets from Sean want to thank him for his work - and for the precious family members they've gained from his kindness.

· Kids Thank the Troops (Produced by Image Factory, Silver Spring, Md.): Inspired by their amputee grandfather's service to his country, two sisters gather together with their school friends and The American Red Cross to assemble "thank you" care packages to give to veterans at Walter Reed Medical Hospital.

· Thank You... (Produced by Imaginary Forces, Los Angeles): A woman pens an intimate and touching thank you to someone special who has given her so much, yet asks for little in return.

· Organ Donor (Produced by Roger, Los Angeles): Organ donor recipients are given the opportunity to say thank you the doctors who performed their life-saving surgeries - and to the donor who made their continued living possible.

Viewers can also submit their personal "thank you" messages both online at DiscoveryFamilyChannel.com and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, using the #projectthankyou hashtag, to run on Discovery Family's on-air "Thank You Ticker" on Thanksgiving Day.

LOST AND FOUND is produced for Discovery Family Channel by Leftfield Pictures. For Leftfield Pictures, Brent Montgomery, David George, Shawn Witt, Ed Simpson and Jason Hollis serve as executive producers. For Discovery Family Channel, Sarah Davies is vice president of production and development and Tom Cosgrove is general manager.
