NEW YORK, August 4, 2015 - "History is written by the victors!" ... Or sometimes by the drunk narrators. The Emmy(R)-nominated Comedy Central series "Drunk History" returns for a 13-episode third season on Tuesday, September 1 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, following an all-new "Tosh.0." Catch up on seasons one and two on the Comedy Central App and at cc.com/drunk beginning August 24.

In the season premiere, host and director Derek Waters takes viewers on a historical journey to New Jersey, presenting inebriated accounts of The Bone Wars, The Balloon Corps and The Big Bang. Mark Proksch narrates the rivalry of fossil-hunters Othniel Marsh (Christopher Meloni) and Edward Cope (Tony Hale); Tess Lynch recounts Thaddeus Lowe's (Greg Kinnear) contributions to America's first air force, founded by President Lincoln (Stephen Merchant); and Jenny Slate explains how scientists Arno Penzias (Justin Long) and Robert Wilson (Jason Ritter) found an exciting new use for an abandoned supersensitive antenna.

Tompkins, Duncan Trussell, David Wain, Brendon Walsh and even co-creator and director Jeremy Konner. They and others will cover the histories of everything from the invention of motion pictures to the rise and fall of the Cocaine Godmother and the truth behind Roswell, among many other incredibly true stories.

The Comedy Central App will offer fans who authenticate via their cable or satellite provider episodes of "Drunk History" season three the day after air. Between seasons, "Drunk History's" Facebook page hosted the Stumble Into History: Walk on Role Contest which will be brought to fruition this season, as the contest winner will be featured in an upcoming episode. Leading up to the season premiere, show clips will be available on Dubsmash for fans to create and share videos across social media. Throughout the season "Drunk History" will host weekly trivia games on Facebook and Kik, and additional extras including deleted scenes and outtakes will be available on the Web site.
