VH1 Launches 'Don't Forget The Lyrics!' With Host Mark McGrath

Series Premieres Monday, September 20 at 7PM ET/PT on VH1

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 13 -- Turn up the volume on your television and grab a microphone because Monday, September 20 at 7 PM ET/PT, one of the most successful music game shows in television history comes to VH1, "Don't Forget The Lyrics!"

With new host Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray, Extra) "Don't Forget The Lyrics!" gives contestants the chance to live out their ultimate rock star fantasy and win a fortune just by knowing the lyrics to five of the biggest hit songs ever recorded. The question is, will they remember the words when the stakes are high and the pressure is on?

Average joes and celebrity contenders will select a song from categories including genre, decade, and musical artist, then step into the limelight to sing along to the lyrics projected on the big screen. But when the music stops and they have to sing it alone, will they have what it takes? Each song they sing correctly wins them an amount of money, giving them the chance to multiply their winnings and try for a fortune by going for one final "Encore!" song.

New host, Mark McGrath, front-man of the multi-platinum group "Sugar Ray," is no stranger to the stage. McGrath was rocketed to pop-star status after the group's success recording hits like "Fly," "Every Morning," and "Falls Apart" and has graced the covers of "Rolling Stone" and "Spin." People magazine dubbed him "Sexiest Rocker" in their 1998 "Sexiest Man Alive" edition.

This upcoming season the program welcomes celebrity contestants from the world of television and music including "American Idol" stars and the Backstreet Boys; Plus special themed episodes including "Cheerleader Week", "Rock the Troops Week", and "Rock the Cradle Week" featuring moms-to-be. So, sit back, turn up the volume, and get ready to sing along to the biggest hit songs of all time. But, if you want to be successful in this game, there is one thing you have to remember ... "Don't Forget The Lyrics!"

In addition to VH1, "Don't Forget the Lyrics!" premieres this fall, 5 days-a week in broadcast syndication and on Tuesday nights on MyNetworkTV. "Don't Forget The Lyrics" was created by Jeff Apploff who also serves as Executive Producer. The Show is produced by 20th Television, RDF USA and Apploff Entertainment.
