CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (CBS) - Liz Vassey is departing the veteran drama, Entertainment Weekly reports. Said decision is pegged as the producers' decision as her option for the show's upcoming 11th season was not picked up. No other specifics were given.
HOW TO BE A BETTER AMERICAN (ABC) - The Jason Jones-led comedy pilot, about a father who embarks on a journey to be a better person and drags along his family kicking and screaming, is reportedly being reshot for midseason consideration. Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley penned the ABC Studios-based half-hour, which also starred Dylan Matzke, Emily Rose Everhard, Johnny Sneed and Missi Pyle - some of whom may not return. The project joins "Wright vs. Wrong" and "Awkward Situations for Men" as the third Alphabet effort getting a second shot at pilot.
SCOUNDRELS (ABC) - Jason Priestley is set to recur on the upcoming summer drama, which stars Virginia Madsen as the matriarch of a family of small-time crooks. He'll play "a ubiquitous TV personality who is immediately smitten with Leven Rambin's aspiring-actress character, Heather." No other details were given.
TILDA (HBO) - Jason Patric ("The Losers") has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about a powerful female online Hollywood journalist (Diane Keaton) with a no-holds-barred style. He's on board as Andrew Brown, the woman's nemesis, "the mastermind behind the media empire RMG, which Tilda is trying to expose the inner workings of." Ellen Page and Wes Bentley also star in the half-hour, which comes from co-creators Bill Condon and Cynthia Mort. Production begins this month in Los Angeles.
