THE INBETWEENERS KEEPS PEOPLE LAUGHING WITH SEASON ONE FINALE, SEASON TWO U.S. PREMIERE

The awkward teens of BBC AMERICA's The Inbetweeners have managed to win over critics and fans alike with their embarrassing mishaps and failed attempts of seduction. The New York Times said it is "a genuine feel for the awkward beast that is teenage life" while Time called it "well-written and charming" and the New York Post raved that it is "...supremely funny. Picture an across-the-pond version of American Pie that isn't actually aimed at cretins, or, better yet, call this bright series Fast Times at Rushmore High." The Inbetweeners Season one finale airs Wednesday, February 17, 9:30p.m. ET/PT and Season two premieres Wednesday, February 24, 9:30p.m. ET/PT.

Written and created by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris (Peep Show, Flight of the Conchords) and named the best new sitcom of 2008 at the British Comedy Awards, The Inbetweeners transition into the second season exactly where the first season left off - centered around Will, Simon, Jay and Neil, the four hapless heroes at Rudge Park Comprehensive, all still desperately trying to work out how to be cool. Together they attempt to navigate the perils of high school life while trying to buy alcohol and make girls 'notice them for who they really are'. Will's still struggling to adapt to his new school which was thrust upon him when his parents divorced and took him out of private education. At his side is Simon, not yet over his romantic obsession with unrequited love, Carli - Jay, whose stories of impressive exploits and sexual conquests are just a little too fantastical to believe - and Neil, an easy going teen who is not exactly the brains of the outfit.

The new season sees the gang of lovable buffoons partake in the rite of passage that is a field trip to the shore, get a taste of the "real world" during work experience week, brave the bright lights of London for a disastrous night of clubbing, and the joys of community service while undertaking a scheme to win a youth charity award. Alongside this they have to battle with making Will's birthday a success, and getting through the end of term exams, neither of which are without their obstacles.

BBC AMERICA brings audiences a new generation of award-winning television featuring news with a uniquely global perspective, provocative dramas, razor-sharp comedies, life-changing makeovers and a whole new world of nonfiction. BBC AMERICA pushes the boundaries to deliver high quality, highly addictive and eminently watchable programming to viewers who demand more. BBC AMERICA is distributed by Discovery Networks. It is available on digital cable and satellite TV in more than 66 million homes.

EPISODE SYNOPSES

*** SPOILER ALERT***

Episode six

It's time for winter break and Will has been voted the chairman of the holiday dance committee. He was the only person who wanted the job, but still. He's taking it seriously and has roped his friends in to help. The dance is a big night for them all, and they're going to do their best to not mess it up. Will wants to show the school that he's worth knowing, Jay wants to DJ, Simon wants to tell Carli how he feels, and Neil wants to hook up with a teacher. Episode six premieres Wednesday, February 17, 9:30p.m. ET/PT

Episode seven

It's a new term and in a desperate attempt at reinvention Will decides that they should become cool, they should become 'The boys who go to clubs'. Simon's not so sure, but when Carli thinks it's cool he immediately changes his mind. Simon drives them up to the bright lights of London's West End where they encounter all the characters associated with a great night out aggressive bouncers, tramps and angry bus passengers. Episode seven premieres Wednesday, February 24, 9:30p.m. ET/PT

Episode eight

The infamous sociology and geography field trip to the shore is coming up, and all the boys are on board. Added to which a new girl, Lauren, has joined the school, to whom Will has taken a particular shine. The only problem with this is that she has eyes for Simon. Jay meanwhile is on the lookout for a legendary MILF reported to have a thing for young boys, and Neil is desperately trying to deflect the advances of an over friendly teacher, Mr. Kennedy. Episode eight premieres Wednesday, March 3, 9:30p.m. ET/PT

Episode nine

It's work experience week at school, and while Jay has sorted out something for himself and Simon at his dad's plant, there's been a mix up with Will and Neil which means that Neil's at a newspaper and Will is at a garage. Mr. Gilbert is either unwilling or unable to change things, so Will gets to see life in a place where he is 'too clever' to actually work. Episode nine premieres Wednesday, March 10, 9:30p.m. ET/PT

Episode ten

It's Will's birthday, and he's planning a suitably grown up dinner, with a few close friends, and any girls they can persuade to come. Unfortunately, Will's party clashes with a far more popular one, which means the boys have to choose. They end up breaking into the rival party, only to watch Simon's French 'greasy' exchange student Patrice prove that even he is more popular than them. Episode ten premieres Wednesday, March 17, 9:30p.m. ET/PT

Episode eleven

Will is asked to co-ordinate the school's youth charity award, and immediately uses it as an opportunity to try and snare an older university student, by helping her out at the local retirement home. The other boys help out, except Simon whose has problems of his own his mom and dad have separated. Episode eleven premieres Wednesday, March 24, 9:30p.m. ET/PT

Episode twelve

Exams are looming, and Will is getting stressed. Jay has other things on his mind while Simon at last seems to be making some headway with Carli, who he's helping study. Looking back on the year the boys realize that things haven't been all bad, but if they had their time again Jay would be less sensitive, Simon would take Carli's word with a grain of salt, Will would drink a lot less energy drinks and Neil would remember his kit for his PE exam. Episode twelve premieres Wednesday, March 31, 9:30p.m. ET/PT
