"STREET COURT" LAUNCHES SEPTEMBER 21

New Twist on Court Series Cleared in 94% of U.S.

September 9, 2009 Litton Entertainment is pleased to announce the September 21st national premiere of STREET COURT, the new half-hour strip that breaks out of the courtroom and takes the judge and the litigants on location to the scene of the dispute. The series, cleared in over 94% of the country, features Judge Mazz (aka Michael Mazzariello), a tough-talking former Brooklyn D.A. who cleaned up crime in his own neighborhood.

Offering a fresh twist on one of the most popular program formats on television, STREET COURT advances the courtroom genre by pairing the authority and tradition of the judge role with the authenticity and drama of real locations.

From ex-wives to ex-cons, from pathetic plumbers to deadbeat dads, STREET COURT captures the emotional face-off of feuding families, bickering best friends, and next-door neighbors whose relationships have been soured by arguments. Presiding over the human drama is Judge Mazz, who grew up on the mean streets of Brooklyn and knows a thing or two about justice and getting to the heart of the truth.

"STREET COURT is an important evolutionary show for the court genre," said Steve Marks, COO of the Sinclair Broadcast Group. "We believe in the concept and are putting our full promotional weight behind it. Litton and STREET COURT have captured the true essence of daytime television."

"We liked STREET COURT immediately," said Emerson Coleman, VP, Programming, Hearst Television, Inc. "It's a fresh, imaginative take on the court genre and has a real chance to break through. It's not just the concept the tape I've seen indicates there is a real vision here. Judge Mazz is the key. He's a big personality that fits the format perfectly. You have all the elements that give court shows their appeal plus the raw feel of being on location at the scene of the crime. It makes for an engaging combination and an exciting show."

"STREET COURT is a strong addition to WPIX's daytime lineup. By moving the court to the scene of the crime, Judge Mazz brings a fresh perspective to the courtroom drama. Plus Judge Mazz is a tough New Yorker who is equally tough on crime," said Betty Ellen Berlamino, President and General Manager of WPIX-TV (New York).

"We are gratified by the enthusiasm that has been expressed by stations across the country for STREET COURT and Judge Mazz," said Thomas Warner, Executive Vice President, Domestic Distribution for Litton Entertainment.

STREET COURT was an idea that actually originated with Judge Mazz, a former bricklayer turned Assistant District Attorney who wanted to create a show that wouldnt chain him to the bench. "I always wanted to bring the jury to the crime scene," said Mazzariello. "In the courtroom were constrained by having to use photos, graphs, charts. Theres nothing like being able to see what happened on location for yourself."

From the case of the pampered Pekingese to the car dealer who knowingly sold lemons, from landlords accused of being slumlords to a brother who absconded with the bail bond money put up by his sister, STREET COURT gives viewers the best seat in the house for all the action and all the evidence.

Distributed by Litton Entertainment, STREET COURT is produced by The Strand Creative Group, a successful TV production and marketing company that has worked on several popular court shows.

Stations and station groups signed on for STREET COURT include WPIX-TV New York, KCAL-TV Los Angeles, WCIU-TV Chicago, Barrington, Belo, Capitol, CBS, Cox, Hearst, Journal, Local TV, Mission, Newport, Roberts, Sinclair, Tribune and Weigel.

STREET COURT was developed by Todd Lichten, VP of Development & Production at Strand. The series is executive produced by Dave Morgan and Chris Strand.

NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution Advertising and Media Sales is responsible for all barter advertising sales for Litton's The Brian McKnight Show, Street Court, Storm Stories and Jack Hannahs Animal Adventures/Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller.

About Judge Mazz (Michael Mazzariello)

New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani once praised Judge Mazz for his "Care, Dedication and Spirit"; the New York Daily News called him "a walking civics lesson"; and CNN said Judge Mazz is "one the best legal minds in America."

As a seasoned litigator with 20 years of experience, Judge Mazz has served the judicial system from all angles. He has worked as both a New York City prosecutor and criminal defense attorney; and he has also mediated and investigated thousands of cases involving matters of family, community, and workplace. Now, Judge Mazz is bringing decades of legal experience with him, as Street Court delivers daily justice at the scene of the dispute.

Judge Mazz began his career in Brooklyn, New York, where he served as Assistant District Attorney, helping clean up the very streets he grew up on. When he wasnt defending his community as prosecutor, Judge Mazz was serving the old neighborhood in other ways, advising and lecturing police and members of the law enforcement community in all matters of criminal procedure in a court of law. He also founded East New York Legal Services, a walk-in nonprofit law firm created to provide legal aide to New York Citys most disenfranchised communities.

When Mayor Rudolph Giuliani took office, Judge Mazz took over as the Chief Prosecutor for the New York City Board of Education, overseeing legal and investigative matters for more than 150,000 employees in the nation's largest public school system. His devotion to education led to an appointment as an adjunct instructor at Marist College, where, for nearly two decades, he lectured students in criminal procedure and civil litigation.

When STREET COURT is not in session, Judge Mazz can be seen as a regular legal expert on CNN, Court TV, and MSNBC, and as a special correspondent for Nancy Grace and The Montel Williams Show. Judge Mazz resides in New York with his wife, Elisabetta, and their two sons, Michael and Mario.
