FX EARNS 11 EMMY(R) NOMINATIONS WITH DAMAGES LEADING THE WAY

Legal Thriller Locks Up Seven Nods Including Outstanding Drama Series Along with Nominations for Glenn Close, Ted Danson and eljko Ivanek

LOS ANGELES, July 17, 2008 FX continued to build on its reputation for quality programming today when the nominations for the 60th Annual Emmy Awards were announced, earning 11 nominations led by its drama series Damages. The critically acclaimed first-year legal thriller scored seven nods including Outstanding Drama Series, Glenn Close for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Ted Danson and eljko Ivanek for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

FX Networks President and General Manager John Landgraf said, "The first word of each Emmy category begins with the word outstanding and that so aptly describes all of our nominees. This day is historic and I'm so proud of everyone associated with Damages. It's a phenomenal accomplishment for Creators Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman to be nominated for Outstanding Drama Series as well as their nomination for Writing. Glenn Close is simply extraordinary and one of the finest actresses of our generation. And to have two actors nominated for supporting actor Ted Danson and eljko Ivanek for their amazing turns, is a basic cable first.

"This was a terrific day for FX and basic cable collectively and it all started seven years ago when The Shield kicked down the Emmy door. We're really thankful to the voters in the Television Academy for their recognition of all of our nominees' outstanding work. I also want to thank Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlict and everyone at Sony Pictures Television for their support of Damages."

Damages, along with AMC's Mad Men, became the first shows from ad-supported cable ever to be nominated in the outstanding series category.

The 11 nominations is the highest total ever for FX with six nods coming in acting categories. In addition to Close, Danson and Ivanek, Oliver Platt of Nip/Tuck and Charles Durning of Rescue Me earned noms for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, and Sharon Gless of Nip/Tuck for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.

FX's other nominees were Allen Coulter for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for Damages; Julie Tucker, Ross Meyerson and Avy Kaufman for Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series for Damages; and Tom Houghton for Outstanding Cinematography for a One Hour Series for Rescue Me.

With her nomination for Damages, Glenn Close became cable television's first actress ever to be nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series in two different series, having also been nominated for her role on The Shield in 2005. This is her 11th career Emmy nomination.

Today's Emmy nomination for Ted Danson brings his career total to 13 nominations, and both Charles Durning and Sharon Gless earned their ninth career Emmy nominations. eljko Ivanek earned his first nomination.

FX was the first basic cable network ever to receive nominations in the writing and directing category and now Damages, with its nomination in those categories, joins other FX series Rescue Me and The Shield with that distinction. Nip/Tuck previously was nominated for directing and the comedy series Lucky for writing.

Damages was created by Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman, who also serve as Executive Producers, writers and showrunners. The series is produced by FX Productions and Sony Pictures Television.

Nip/Tuck was created and is executive produced by Ryan Murphy, who continues to write and direct several episodes. Michael M. Robin is executive producer. It is produced by The Shephard-Robin Company in association with Warner Bros. Television Productions Inc.

Rescue Me was created by Leary and Peter Tolan, who also serve as Executive Producers and head writers. Jim Serpico is also an Executive Producer. The series is produced by Leary and Serpico's production company Apostle, The Cloudland Company and DreamWorks Television in association with Sony Pictures Television.
