EXTERMINATORS (Showtime, New!) - Simon Oliver and Tony Moore's DC/Vertigo comic of the same name is being developed as a drama series at the pay channel. "Dexter" executive producer Sara Colleton is shepherding the project, about an ex-con who joins an exterminator company, working with a freakish supporting cast of characters. The series likewise will revolve around the Bug-Be-Gone crew, an extended dysfunctional family of exterminators "whose greatest enemies aren't the insects and rodents they meet and kill on a daily basis but rather their own self doubts, vices and inner demons," according to the report. It's understood co-creator Oliver originally pitched "Exterminators" as a TV series before opting to turn it into a comic book.

MAD MEN (AMC) - Matthew Weiner confirmed during AMC's session at the TCA the series will wrap after five seasons, spanning 10 years on the show itself. Season two for example opens 14 months after the conclusion of season one. "In the life of the series, if it continues, I would like to cover this period of people's lives -- and that's a five year plan and not a ten-year plan," he told reporters.

THE UNITED STATES OF TARA (Showtime) - Brie Larson ("Raising Dad") has joined the cast of Diablo Cody's upcoming comedy series, about a wife and mother (Toni Collette) with dissociative identity disorder. She'll play Kate, the smart, confident 17-year-old daughter of the title character, who struggles with her mother's disorder while rebelling against the world with her own issues. Portia Doubleda played said role in the original pilot. It's not clear why the character was recast. John Corbett and Keir Gilchrist also star in the DreamWorks Television-based project, which rolls out next year.
