By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

FOURPLAY (ABC) - Ty Burrell ("Back to You") is set to join the cast of the comedy pilot, about two men - Derek (Josh Cooke), who is straight and Drew (Alan Tudyk), who is gay - who are lifelong best friends and business partners. He'll play Drew's handsome lover. David Kohan and Max Mutchnick are behind the Warner Bros. Television-based half-hour, which also stars Rizwan Manji.

GOOD BEHAVIOR (ABC) - Gary Cole ("Desperate Housewives") and Jeffrey Tambor ("20 Good Years") have both signed onto the drama pilot, about the matriarch of a family of criminals (Catherine O'Hara) who decides it's time for her brood to go straight when her husband (Cole) ends up in the clink for five years. Cole will play Dean, the aforementioned patriarch while Tambor will guest star as Hy, Jackie's sleazy partner at a pawn shop. Keith Robinson, Mae Whitman, Patrick Adams and Stephanie Lemelin also star in the project, which comes from ABC Studios. Charles McDougall is directing from a script by Rob Thomas.

THE PRINCE OF MOTOR CITY (ABC) - Benny Ciaramello ("Friday Night Lights") and John Carroll Lynch ("K-Ville") have both landed roles on the drama pilot, about Billy Hamilton (Warren Christie), a young Harvard philosophy professor forced to return to Detroit to take over the family's auto company. The former is set as Josh Korman, who's described in the casting notice as follows: "Early-Late 30s, Caucasian, immediately likable, hard working and a straight shooter. He's a close friend of Billy's who stayed behind in Detroit and is now a lawyer representing the union workers of local 27 in their case against Hamilton Motors. Unlike Billy, Josh comes from blue collar roots. He has no idea that William Hamilton footed the bill for his private school education and college. Josh feels immense pressure from his father Marty, as well as Reggie and many other factory workers, to convince Billy not to sell the factory (sending the entire city's jobs overseas)." Lynch then is set as Paul Riley: "50s. He is the rough hewn, exhausted right hand man of William Hamilton. Despite humble beginnings, Paul became the Hamilton family fixer and the CFO of Hamilton Motors. Paul, who seems to be a loving father to Meg and can have a wry sense of humor, appears to have resigned himself to the fact that he wasn't left in charge, while his wife Dotty is less willing to let the matter drop." Andie MacDowell, Aunjanue Ellis and Piper Perabo also star in the ABC Studios-based hour, which comes from creators Hamish Linklater and Jessica Goldberg. Jack Bender is directing.

THE TONY ROCK PROJECT (MyNetworkTV) - The netlet has officially ordered the project to series. Set for Wednesday nights at 8:30/7:30c this fall, the half-hour features everything from man-on-the-street interviews to hidden camera segments. Langley Productions ("Jail") and C to the B Productions ("Under One Roof") are co-producing.

VIRTUALITY (FOX) - Kerry Bishe is the latest to board the two-hour drama pilot, about Earth's first starship, which is equipped with advanced virtual reality modules. She'll play a computer specialist aboard the spaceship who, during her virtual reality sessions, is a Tokyo rock star. She joins the previously cast Jimmi Simpson and James D'Arcy in the project, which comes from Universal Media Studios, director Peter Berg and co-creators Michael Taylor and Ronald D. Moore.
