NBC Promotes Terence Carter to Vice President, Drama Programming, NBC Entertainment

NBC PROMOTES TERENCE CARTER TO VICE PRESIDENT, DRAMA PROGRAMMING, NBC ENTERTAINMENT

BURBANK, Calif. - April 15, 2008 - NBC programming executive Terence Carter has been promoted to Vice President, Drama Programming, NBC Entertainment, it was announced today by Katie O'Connell, Senior Vice President, Drama Programming, NBC Entertainment, to whom he will report.

"Terence's extensive background and great instincts have made him an integral part of the department," said O'Connell. "His work shepherding the "Knight Rider" movie and the upcoming anthology series "Fear Itself" were incredibly valuable. This well-deserved promotion will provide him an even wider canvas on which to utilize his talents."

In his new position, Carter will manage both development and current series for the network. He will continue his work on the pilot "Kings," which will be shot by Francis Lawrence ("I Am Legend"), and the recently announced "Knight Rider" series. He also will continue shepherding the "Fear Itself" anthology.

Carter most recently served as Director, Drama Development since March 2007. In this role he covered the development of the highly rated television movie, "Knight Rider," and the upcoming "Fear Itself" anthology, which has attracted the most popular and well-respected directors in the genre including John Landis, Darren Bousman, Breck Eisner and Mary Harron.

Prior to joining the Drama team, Carter served as Director of Comedy Development from March 2005-March 2007. During this time he managed the development of such series as "20 Good Years" and "The IT Crowd."

Before joining NBC, Carter served as a Head of Development at Tonic Films, a successful production company specializing in genre films, since May 2004. While there he oversaw the development of 2007's "Borderland" and the upcoming "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever."

Prior to his time at Tonic Films, Carter served as a Partner at TruEntertainment, an independent production company, since August 2002. Previously, he worked under Mark Canton at Artists Production Group and in the Motion Picture Talent Department at Artists Management Group.

Carter began his career in entertainment working as an intern at "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" in 2000. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University, where he studied Afro-American Studies with a focus in film and media.
