'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Jeopardy!' Renewed Through 2011-2012
By the end of this new deal, "Wheel of Fortune" will have completed 29 seasons and "Jeopardy!" will have finished 28 seasons.

LOS ANGELES � January 2, 2006 � Powerhouse game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! were renewed through the 2011-2012 season, it was announced today by Roger King, Chief Executive Officer of CBS Television Distribution.

�These new sales reflect what the ratings prove every week � Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! are two of the most valuable properties in syndication,� King said. �It�s a real tribute to our production partner, Sony, and executive producer, Harry Friedman, that after more than 20 years, these are still two of the highest-rated shows in syndication, and station demand for them remains high. We can�t think of a better way to kick off the New Year than with this announcement of many more years of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! to come.�

Wheel of Fortune has ranked as the #1 syndicated series on television for 23 years and currently, in its 24th season, attracts more than 46 million viewers a week. Emmy award-winning Jeopardy!, now in its 23rd season, has ranked among the top 3 syndicated shows for 22 years and is watched by more than 37 million viewers a week.

�The Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! production teams are simply the best,� Friedman said. �With these unprecedented renewals, we will continue to infuse our classic games with energy and originality through 2012 and beyond.�

Both shows are renewed through 2012 in about one-third of the country, with stations from ABC, CBS, Post-Newsweek, Hearst-Argyle and Sinclair�s station groups signing on for two more years. By the end of this new deal, Wheel of Fortune will have completed 29 seasons and Jeopardy! will have finished 28 seasons.

Stations renewing Wheel of Fortune include the ABC owned-and-operated stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Raleigh-Durham (N.C.) and Fresno (Calif.) as well as stations in the following top 25 markets: KTVT-TV, Dallas (CBS Television Stations); WSBK-TV, Boston (CBS Television Stations); WDIV-TV, Detroit (Post-Newsweek Stations); WCCO-TV, Minneapolis (CBS Television Stations); and WPLG-TV, Miami (Post-Newsweek Stations).

Stations reupping Jeopardy! include the ABC owned-and-operated stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Raleigh-Durham (N.C.) and Fresno (Calif.) as well as stations in the following top 25 markets: KTVT-TV, Dallas (CBS Television Stations); WSBK-TV, Boston (CBS Television Stations); WDIV-TV, Detroit (Post-Newsweek Stations); and WPLG-TV, Miami (Post-Newsweek Stations).
