Tom Goes to The Mayor Makes Victorious Adult Swim Return June 4

Little Show That Could Does in New Season with Guest Stars Bob Odenkirk, Gary Busey, Judd Hirsch, Sean Hayes, Janeane Garofalo, Robert Loggia and Sir Mix-a-Lot

Like Julius Caesar returning from Waterloo in triumph, Tom Goes to The Mayor makes its basic cable homecoming with a new season on Adult Swim this June. The small-town politics, poor decision making, delusional thinking and curious guest stars that have become the Adult Swim shows hallmark begin anew on Sunday, June 4 at 12:30 a.m. (ET, PT).

Tom Peters is a would-be entrepreneur and civic do-gooder in the eccentric small town of Jefferton. He brings his crackpot ideas to The Mayor, who invariably endorses them. From there, Tom Goes to The Mayor explores the comedic possibilities of government machinations, provincial thinking and tragically misguided civic pride. The series is written and produced by Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, who also provide voices for the two main characters. Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show with Bob & David, The Larry Sanders Show) is executive producer and a frequent guest star. Other guests stars for the new season include Dave Foley, Gary Busey, Judd Hirsch, Sean Hayes, Janeane Garofalo, Bob Balaban, Garry Shandling, Robert Loggia, Michael Ian Black, Zack Galifianakis and Sir Mix-a-Lot.

Tom Goes to The Mayor will air at 12:30 a.m. (ET, PT) on Sundays, beginning June 4. Following are descriptions of the first five episodes scheduled to start the new season:

- Sunday, June 4: My Big Cups Tom opens a store called My Big Cups, which sells 1.8 liter cups. When The Mayor stops in to buy some cups, he falls in love with Toms sons macaroni art on the wall. Tom must then duplicated the painting for Jeffertons upcoming 30th Anniversary Celebration. Special Guests: Sir Mix-a-Lot and Bob Odenkirk.

- Sunday, June 11: Bass Fest After his adult school field trip reveals cracks in the Richardson Family Dam, Tom goes on a mission to halt the upcoming Jefferton Bass Fest. With The Mayor, the Wiz, Joy and his children standing in the way, Tom launches a protest canoe to warn the town. Special Guests: Sean Hayes and Bob Odenkirk.

- Sunday, June 18: Jeffy Tom and The Mayor invent a fake sea serpent to attract tourism. Special Guest: Fred Armisen.

- Sunday, June 25: White Collarless The Mayor hires Tom as a manager on a top-secret project. When Tom reports to work the first day, he realizes its not the job he expected as the elevator descends deep into the Jefferton Mines. Special Guests: Louie Anderson and Mike Hitchcock.

- Sunday, July 2: Wrestling When the Jefferton wrestling coach collapses, Tom is called upon by the Mayor to coach the team. Tom quickly discovers the wrestlers have been using Flaxamax, a dangerously addictive muscle enhancer. Special Guests: Gary Busey and Bob Odenkirk.

Tim and Eric met in 1994 as college freshmen at Temple University, helping each other out on film and video coursework. After graduation, they continued to work together in both New York and Philadelphia on strange short films. One of their first projects Tom Goes to The Mayor, a short, dry conversation about a proposed buffet restaurant, was included in Penn Universitys Institute of Contemporary Art and selected by the Philadelphia Festival of World Cinema as a -more- short film.

In 2001, Tim and Eric compiled Tom and several other shorts onto a tape that they sent to all their comedy heroes, including Bob Odenkirk. He liked it. Together, these three developed Tom Goes to The Mayor as a TV series, which they pitched to Adult Swim, while Tim and Eric continued to make short films and perform in comedy showcases. The series made its debut on Adult Swim on Nov. 14, 2004.

Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), launched in 2001, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.s network offering original and acquired animated comedy and action series for young adults.
