CBS to Stick with 'Listen Up,' 'Center of the Universe'

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- CBS' two freshman comedies - "Listen Up" and "Center of the Universe" - are sticking around as the Eye confirmed yesterday it has committed to a full season of the former and ordered additional installments and scripts of the latter.
"Listen Up" has averaged 10.21 million viewers through seven airings this season, retaining a stellar 96.87% of lead-in "Still Standing" (10.54 million). The Jason Alexander-led comedy nevertheless doesn't quite compare with "Standing's" average in the Monday, 8:30/7:30c half-hour last season, where it averaged 12.63 million viewers during the same period and built on lead-in "Yes, Dear" by 11.67%.
As for "Universe," the Eye has ordered two more episodes of the comedy as well as six additional scripts. The short order is due to the show's late start this season as the majority of its initial 13 episodes have yet to air.
In the final numbers available for the first two weeks of "Universe," the series has averaged 9.95 million viewers, retaining 89.56% of lead-in "The King of Queens" (11.11 million). Said numbers were on par with last season when "Becker" averaged 9.65 million viewers and a 92.34% retention rate of "Queens" after two airings.
