Edie Falco, Jon Cryer, Anthony LaPaglia, Blair Underwood, Heather Locklear, Adam Brody, James Gandolfini, George Lopez, Melina Kanakaredes, Simon Cowell, Charlie Sheen and Treat Williams have been confirmed as presenters for the "56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards." The show will broadcast live from Los Angeles' historic Shrine Auditorium, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET Live/ tape delay in PT) on the ABC Television Network.

Edie Falco is nominated again for her lead role as Carmela Soprano, for which she has already won three Emmy Awards. Falco is the only actress to ever receive the Emmy Award, the Golden Globe Award and the SAG Award all in the same year for her work on the show. Her television credits include recurring roles in the HBO dramatic series, "Oz," and the acclaimed NBC series, "Law and Order" and "Homicide." Falco has also appeared on stage and film with performances in the Tony Award-winning "Sideman," "The Vagina Monologues" and "Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune," and had feature film roles in such movies as "Cost of Living," "Laws of Gravity" and "Sunshine State." She will be starring on Broadway this fall in the revival of "'Night, Mother."

Jon Cryer currently co-stars in the CBS hit comedy "Two and a Half Men" as Alan Harper, opposite Charlie Sheen. On television, Cryer starred in the series "The Famous Teddy Z," "Getting Personal," "Partners" and "The Trouble with Normal." Notable guest-starring roles include "The Practice," "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" and "Mr. Show." He has also appeared in numerous feature films, including "No Small Affair" with Demi Moore, "Pretty in Pink" and "Hot Shots!," again with Sheen. He also co-wrote, produced and starred in the independent films, "The Pompatus of Love" and "Went to Coney Island on a Mission from God...Be Back by Five." Cryer studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Anthony LaPaglia has earned two Emmy nominations this year: he received his first Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Jack Malone in the Jerry Bruckheimer/CBS drama, "Without a Trace," a role that recently earned him a Golden Globe in 2004; and a second nomination for his guest starring role on "Frasier" as Daphne's brother, Simon Moon, a role that earned him an Emmy Award in 2002. Other television credits include Steven Bochco's critically acclaimed "Murder One," HBO's "Criminal Justice," Showtime's "Garden of Redemption" and CBS' "Never Give Up: The Jimmy V Story." On stage LaPaglia starred in the Broadway production of Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge," which earned him a Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award. He has also had an extensive film career, with an upcoming role in "Winter Solstice" in April 2005, as well as roles in "The Guys," "Lantana" and " Analyze That."

Blair Underwood is currently starring opposite Heather Locklear on NBC's new hit drama, "LAX." Recent television credits include HBO's Emmy nominated comedy series, "Sex and the City," and Nick at Nite's hit animated series, "Fatherhood." Other television credits include Steven Bochco's "City of Angels," the CBS miniseries "Mama Flora's Family" and "L.A. Law," in which his portrayal of Jonathan Rollins earned him a Golden Globe nomination. Underwood has received five NAACP Image Awards, as well as numerous nominations for television roles in "City of Angels," NBC's "Murder in Mississippi," HBO's "Soul of the Game," and film roles in "Rules of Engagement" and "Set it Off." Other film credits include "Just Cause," "Full Frontal," "Deep Impact" and "Malibu's Most Wanted."

Heather Locklear stars this fall in NBC's highly anticipated drama, "LAX," along with Blair Underwood. Locklear has enjoyed a prolific career in both television and film and is a four-time Golden Globe nominee. Her other television credits include memorable roles in "Spin City," "Melrose Place," "Dynasty" and "T. J. Hooker." Recenly Locklear co-starred in "Uptown Girls" and "Looney Tunes: Back in Action," and coming up she will star in Universal Pictures' "The Perfect Man."

Adam Brody currently stars in FOX's hit, "The O.C.," as Seth Cohen. His other television credits include recurring roles in "Once and Again" and "Gilmore Girls." Brody's feature film credits include "The Ring" and the upcoming "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," opposite Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. He will next star opposite Meg Ryan in "In the Land of Women" for Warner Bros.

James Gandolfini earned his fourth Emmy nomination for his role as Tony Soprano, which won him Emmy Awards in 2000, 2001 and 2003. His portrayal of the mob boss has also won him a Golden Globe and two SAG Awards, and he was named American Film Institute's Television Actor of the Year in 2001. Gandolfini has not only made his mark on TV, but has done so in feature films by playing a variety of roles in over 20 motion pictures. Recent film credits include the upcoming "Romance and Cigarettes," "Surviving Christmas," "The Man Who Wasn't There," "The Mexican," "The Last Castle," "Eight Millimeter" and "Fallen." Gandolfini made his theatre debut in the 1992 "A Streetcar Named Desire," alongside Alec Baldwin and Jessica Lange.

George Lopez is co-creator, writer, producer and star of ABC's comedy, "George Lopez." Lopez recently used his comedic talents to host the "5th Annual Latin Grammy Awards," which he also hosted last year. He continues to sell out comedy clubs and theatres across the country, and has earned kudos for his dramatic roles in the films "Real Women Have Curves" and "Bread and Roses." In May 2004 his autobiography, Why You Crying? was released and hit the New York Times Bestseller List in the Top 20, and his live comedy concert special, "George Lopez: Why You Crying?," debuted on Showtime.

Melina Kanakaredes stars this fall in the new CBS drama, "CSI: New York," opposite Gary Sinise. Kanakaredes is best known for her portrayal of Dr. Sydney Hansen on the critically acclaimed series, "Providence." Her other television credits include a recurring role as Jimmy Smits' reporter girlfriend on "NYPD Blue" and starring roles in "New York News" and "Leaving L.A.," as well as guest appearances on "The Practice" and "Oz." On the big screen, her credits include the indie film, "Into the Fire," "15 Minutes," opposite Robert De Niro, "Rounders," "Dangerous Beauty" and "The Long Kiss Goodnight."

Simon Cowell is the infamously honest celebrity judge on the Emmy-nominated FOX hit, "American Idol." A 20-year veteran of the music industry, Cowell is an executive with BMG records and has helped to shape what we consider modern pop music. He has worked with and developed groups and individual performers such as Westlife, pop siren Sinitta and Robson & Jerome. His acts have achieved sales of more than 25 million albums, over 70 Top-30 records and 17 No. 1 singles. Cowell and Simon Fuller conceived the original idea for "Pop Idols" in Britain, which was such a success that the concept was brought to America as "American Idol."

Charlie Sheen currently co-stars in the CBS comedy "Two and a Half Men" as Charlie Harper, opposite Jon Cryer. Sheen is best known to television audiences from his Golden Globe Award-winning lead role in "Spin City." On the big screen, he has starred in over 40 feature films, catapulting to fame in "Platoon" and "Wall Street." His other feature-film credits include "Red Dawn," "Lucas," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Eight Men Out," "Young Guns," "Major League," "Hot Shots!" "Hot Shots! Part Deux," "The Three Musketeers," "The Chase," "Money Talks" and "Being John Malkovich." Most recently he was seen in the films "Scary Movie 3" and "The Big Bounce."

Treat Williams can currently be seen in the critically acclaimed WB drama, "Everwood." Williams has received many accolades for his work in television, including an Emmy Award nomination for his potrayal of Michael Ovitz in the HBO movie, "The Late Shift," and a Golden Globe nomination for his performance as Stanley Kowalski in the television presentation of "A Streetcar Named Desire." Williams first gained critical attention when he earned two Golden Globe nominations for his starring roles in the big-screen version of the musical "Hair" and in Sidney Lumet's "Prince of the City."

Don Mischer is executive producer of the "56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards," which are presented by the Academy of Television Art & Sciences.
