"60 MINUTES" RETURNS TO UKRAINE FOR 8th REPORT SINCE WAR BEGAN, ONE YEAR AFTER RUSSIA'S INVASION

THIS SUNDAY, CBS NEWS' HOLLY WILLIAMS CONTRIBUTES A REPORT FROM THE LIBERATED CITY OF KHERSON

NEXT WEEK, 60 MINUTES' SCOTT PELLEY SPEAKS WITH THREE UKRAINIAN WOMEN WHO WERE ONCE RUSSIAN PRISONERS OF WAR

One year into Russia's war on Ukraine, 60 MINUTES returns to Ukraine for its eighth on-the-ground report since the invasion began. This Sunday, Feb. 26, CBS News senior foreign correspondent Holly Williams contributes a story from Kherson, the first major Ukrainian city and only regional capital captured by the Russian army. Residents there lived through a brutal occupation until this past November when the Ukrainian military liberated the city. Williams reports on life for residents in liberated Kherson as the city continues to fall under fire from Russian artillery now on the opposite bank of the Dnipro River.

A transcript of the excerpt is below.

60 MINUTES correspondent Scott Pelley has reported extensively on Ukraine from cities across the country. On Sunday, March 5, Pelley reports on the treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war held in Russian captivity, and he interviews three women who were released last fall in prisoner exchanges.

Williams' report from Kherson will be broadcast on 60 MINUTES this Sunday, Feb. 26 (7:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Pelley's story on Ukrainian women who were Russian prisoners of war will air Sunday, March 5 (7:00 PM, ET/PT).

Highlights of previous 60 MINUTES reporting from Ukraine include Pelley's report on Russia's attacks to Ukraine's energy grid as Vladimir Putin turned winter into a weapon of mass destruction; Pelley's extensive interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy inside his presidential compound; Pelley's report on the victims found in a mass grave in Bucha; and Pelley's interview with Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska.
